Is Pluto in Uranus or something?  Let's all have FUN.  The sun has come out, I shall be jogging shortly and we should all just get up and dance with gay abandon.

I think there is too much gay abandoned happening.  Perhaps it should be put in check before dancing.

Speaking of dancing, page 5 dance.  I don't dance, gay or otherwise.  Don't ask me.

I stopped dancing after my wild disco days in the 70s.

...Keep you eyes and ears open toward the end of the week as warrior Mars squares intense Pluto....
Interesting, since Mars and Pluto are in conjunction in my birth chart.

In fact, my entire chart is cluttered with conjunctions, something like six of 'em.  Which, of course, doubles up every other aspect of the chart.

If Uranus is ineffectual, you may want to try that new drug Ass-effects, or Aciphex, or whatever they call it.

I do like to post some of my obscure things that I really don't think people would get or characters from my books or films.

But, Bruce, we've ALL  read all your books and seen all your films, yes?

Hmm... Maybe we should all just log off for six weeks, or two months, or whatever length of time...   Then we would all be caught up.

;D

And as for Initials...

I hereby volunteer to post the next set of initials at Midnight (EST) this coming Sunday night/Monday morning.  And then I shall refrain from posting any names until later in the day.  -And I will just look at a book, a record, a DVD case, pick a name and use those initials.  And I will "pick" those initials right before posting.  No pre-thought or prep involved.

Sound fair?

DR Jose - we arrive two weeks from tomorrow (but who's counting?), Aug. 27, in the afternoon.

Your birthday plans sounds like fun and very "you."  I'll be interested to see how it develops.

Thanks. And I guess I could extend my celebration for you and Richard.  ;)

Der Brucer and I could pick out the initials.  Since we're the ones doing the scorekeeping, we could pick initials like QZ, and make the work easy for ourselves!

 ;D

More seriously, the current system, from our standpoint, works fine.  Since der B is up way into the vampire hours, he can compile the list and have it up by the time everyone else awakens, so they don't constantly have to plow through the posts to avoid repetitions.

And keep in mind, everyone:  There are some names, with every set of initials, which are obvious.  These are going to be the first names that come up, and probably would come up no matter who made the first dozen posts.  I suppose those first posters could refrain from posting the obvious names, saving them for later contributors, but then someone making the next dozen posts would pick them, or the dozen after that.  Those names are going to get posted at some point.

The trick is to come up with names that no one else has thought of.  That's the game.  And, who knows?  Maybe you'll come up with a name that no one else knows, but in also telling what that person does, or has done, you'll help someone discover things they never knew before!  That's what I call fun!

Funny how things move in New York. There is no sunshine down in Chelsea, Flatiron, the Village. It's cloudy and looks as if it may rain at any moment. Uptown our DR Jose is about to go out into the sunshine!

Another picture to bring the sun out in your day...the lovely Rory Calhoun.

Ssshhhh...one of my actress interviewees admitted to me that she had a little affair with Rory while they were filming a western...

Did she have to throw Guy Madison out of bed?

It certainly seems SOMETHING has gotten into it.... ;D

If I had the energy, I'd try to get grumpy, too.

OY!

Did this really all have to come up again?!?!?!?

So... Maybe the whole solution to the whole SPOILER ALERT situation is to just not discuss those shows, programs, movies, etc., on this site.  Just take those discussions to sites exclusively devoted to talking about those shows.

Would that work for everybody?

No!  And I'm OUTRAGED that you'd even suggest it.

Here's a thought:  Let's not discuss anything until it is aired on TV or is released on DVD or CD and a copy has been mailed to every Hainsie/Kimlet.

That way, we can all catch up and post about the same thing.

If I have to leave spoiler space on every single post I make, then I'm leaving.

And I am not leaving.

Every post you make ISN'T about a TV show plot or reality show winner.  Therefore, posting "SPOILER" isn't an issue.

But if you did...or more to the point...if you were watching such a show but for some reason had to record it for later viewing...you'd probably be very happy that MOST of us who post about these things do so with a spoiler warning because there are people here who don't get to watch the shows as they air.

That said, I know DR Jennifer was disappointed to learn the winner of that cooking show but the truth is, the game wasn't about that show -- it was about a name that fit the initials.

Sometimes shit happens.  It's not intentional.  It just is.

The point, I think, is to not make a huge deal of it when it happens and it's quite obvious it was an inadvertent revelation.

Let's retain the status quo of being careful discussing a recent episode of some show by posting SPOILER so that those who cannot catch up until the weekend (or, in the case of one DR, until the season is on DVD) won't have their pleasure spoiled.

But also maintain an objectivity that sometimes things get revealed without the writer meaning to spoil anything.

I like the new freecreditreport-dot-com commercial more than I liked the last one.

Nice that the older lady from the first  (restaurant) commercial is back in this commercial as well.
