Jennifer -  A few years ago I was in charge of getting dresses together for a choir I was in.  I purchased a whole bunch of those little dress clip thingys for us because so many of the dresses came too big for our girls.  Now for the life of me I can't find any mention of such items at any sewing store website, or any place else for that matter.  I was going to post a picture...but no luck.  Well, I tried...

Ok, call me crazy but has anyone here seen the commercial about aspirin with the song that starts, "Pump, Pumps....your blood"?  Now I might be totally off my rocker but I seem to remember (don't ask me why) that same song being sung during a Happy Days episode where one of the guys used that song to pass a test in his biology class.

Am I crazy or does anyone else remember that?

No, Danise, you are not crazy (well, not on this issue, anyway :D).  Potsie did indeed write that song to pass a test, and, if you listen to the commercial, it is Anson Williams singing it again.

I just finished watching the Bollywood comedy that I listed the other day in the Bollywood movie of the week. It was very funny and had a sweet ending. Sometimes you never know if comedy will translate well or not, and no doubt there were things that were missed in translation (whoever did the subtitles did not have a good grasp of the English language! LOL!).

Now I am catching up on posts and listening to The Best of the Arbors...I love their song A SYMPHONY FOR SUSAN!

The Chippendale Dancers had their own cartoon??  Where was I?  I'd love to see that one!

Glad someone noticed the attempt at being funny George. I had better stick to my day job - but then again, I don't have one.

I should have given a mention to Tom Terrific and Manfred the Wonder Dog.
Thanks TCB - Loved Fractured Fairytales.

I watched Shrek 2 (Yes illegal DVD) the other day. Very funny use of fairy tales and references to old and new movies.

Well, what do you know!  I'm not crazy!  I was going to say Potsie but thought I was pushing my luck at that point.

Jane wanted me to tell you all about something.  Remember before I went on my trips I had what I thought was a sinus infection that was affecting my teeth? . What I didn't say was it turns out that I had a infection alright, not a sinus infection but one that was deep down in my one tooth.

The infection I had was part of what was making me so sick on the trips.  I didn't know that at the time.  Basically,  every time I was swallowing I was putting more of it in my system.  Why the dentist didn’t catch that the first time, I don’t know.

I was lucky that it didn’t make it into my blood.  When I took Bear up for his shots, his vet told me of a friend of hers that has to have a heart transplant because an infection in his tooth got into his bloodstream and settled into his heart muscle.

I had to have my other surgery pushed back because of the infection I have/had.  I was told it was to dangerous to even attempt any other type of surgery until we’re sure it is all gone.

All I want to say is Please, please, please, learn from this and should your teeth hurt you, get to a dentist as soon as you can.   You don’t know what your messing with.

Ok, end of lecture.

As for that little thing with the clips.  Would you believe I bought them for my trip and I can’t remember what the salesgirl called them?  Not suspenders but close to that.  I asked Mom, she doesn’t know either.  Aggghhh.  I HATE it when this happens.  Now I’m going to drive myself crazy until I remember or find out what those things are called!   :D

I feel bad about not including Rocky, Bullwinkle, Boris, Natasha, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and all of the other greats from that one-of-a-kind series. I was delighted to read that Season 2 of ROCKY & BULLWINKLE will be released on DVD before the year is out.

The early Gumby cartoons are my # 1 favorites!

Also the old Terry Toons cartoon HASHIMOTO.

Going way back in time I love the old Merrie Melodies cartoons from the 1930s! One of my favorites being a little owl who enters a talent contest! Don't recall the title.

In the late 1940s there were a couple of Raggedy Ann cartoons that are very cute.

And here it is, the final score and my new ascension to the millionaire's club.  How many of us are there?  I might have gone longer but my eyes were starting to cross and I got lazy.  I'm very proud of this wonderful moment.  I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me on my way to the millionaire's club.

JRand53, I remember that HOLLYWOOD AND THE STARS played early Saturday mornings on one of our cable stations that we got in the 70s. Probably one of the stations piped up from California. I loved it! There was a great one that was devoted to horror and sci-fi films. And the theme song to H and the S was beautiful!

I also remember fondly a one time Warner Bros. cartoon inspired by by "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" called FROM A TO ZZZ...." I just loved this cartoon.

Danise, I'd heard that things like that can happen if you don't floss!  The bacteria from in between your teeth get into your bloodstream and go right to your heart!  NOT a good thing!

Anyway, my housemate is at his mother's house, mowing her lawn, so I thought that I would mow my lawn.  He said that he would do it on a regular basis (because I'm paying more in rent than he is), but since he always mows the same area and the rest of it is just getting taller and taller and taller, I figure I'd give him a little break and get some of done, and I'd get a little exercise as well.  So, I'm off to mow.  Hopefully, there aren't too many little animals around...or at least the sound of the mower will scare them off before it too late! :o

Sooo...let me see if I have this straight, Panni?  You want credit for introducing people to yet another time-waster in a whole plethora of time-wasters that already steal precious minutes out of our ever-shorter days?  Well, you didn't introduce us all to bookworm.  Some of us have a life.

Yes, I loved FRACTURED FLICKERS, but I didn't see it until many years after its run. Back in the late 1960s when UHF broadcast stations finally started to take off in my TV area, the newest one had no network affiliation and had to pad its schedule with really really old (and I imagined cheap) black and white syndicated shows like MY LITTLE MARGIE, ONE STEP BEYOND, and FRACTURED FLICKERS.

This station was also the one that bought very obscure (to me) old movies and ran them continuously. It's the only place I have ever seen the old Alice Faye Universal musical YOU"RE A SWEETHEART and Betty Hutton's DREAM GIRL. For some reason, nobody seems to have the rights to show these movies any more.

Danise I didn’t know they still sold those clips.  I purchased mine years ago have haven’t seen them for a long time.

Thanks for posting the details of your infection.  I hope it’s knowledge we never need.

My body kind of shut down on my this afternoon. I was watching BIG FISH, got about 30 minutes in, and I could not keep my eyes open (only got six hours of sleep last night, probably due to that huge meal I had so late in the day). Ended up taking a three hour nap this afternoon. I am VERY afraid I won't be able to fall asleep tonight becuase of this extended sleep this afternoon, but I must have needed it. It hasn't happened in a long time.

Thank you, George!  I'll have to give Book Worm a try.  To bad we can't all play at the same time.

Jane, if nothing else, I will have to go to the mall and ask the gal in that shop what those things are called.  I remember she said they can't keep them in stock.  I'm looking at the card they came on (I bought both the gold and the silver) but there isn't a name on them.  Ugh!!

Now, now, I have a life, I have a life.  But on days such as this, a holiday, in the morning hours, I occasionally enjoy a good game of Bookworm or Free Cell.  It's fun for me and relaxes me.  While I might have become addicted to it, there simply was no danger because it takes too long to play.  I play maybe once a week now, just for fun, early in the morning.
