DR Tomovoz,

Congrats on hitting 4000!
I feel every day of it. Thanks Dan, I would not have noticed.

The Outtake is always reliable - not the greatest, but always good.

A very pretty girl and her nice dog just walked by.  It's so pretty looking out my kitchen window as I merrily type away.

I'll vote for those two too. But they have to have custard and not cream in them.

A Napoleon should always have custard.  It has been a long time since I have had a good Napoleaon.

I thought a Napolean should always have Josephine.  We don't allow groaning here at haineshisway.com.

Cillaliz I’m sorry about your cat and hope it isn’t cancer.  My cat Bogie is having an ultrasound tomorrow and we just lost our dog to cancer so I know what you are going through.

GOOD HEALTH VIBES TO YOUR CALICO!

I tried Lost for about 30 seconds one night, got an instant negative vibe and never tried again.

I am now craving something involving pastry and custard and whipped cream.

My favorite pastry is something called a Danish Pastry that my mother and her mother used to make, it was a New Years tradition.  Baked in a circle that you could cut slices out of, it had a denser eggy layer on bottom, almondy filling, a flaky layer, and the most delicious icing ever on top.  Incredibly sinful, but sooooo good.

Pastry!

Pastry seems a very passive/aggressive sort of word, doesn't it?  Pas(s) try.

I don't like custard in pastry.  I liked whipped cream....lots and lots of whipped cream.

Twinkies haven't tasted the same since they added vitamins!

My sister and brother in law (Molly and Jason-who-decided-to-stay) have been giving me the Gaslight treatment.  Telling me that they brought back my AIRPORT 77 & 79 movies.....and now after two weeks....they found them at their house and are bringing them home to me tonight!

Is the Doris Day Show on any of the satellite services?  I haven't seen it for many years....I don't want to see a LOT of it, but would like to see a couple of episodes now and then!

Hmmmmmmmm......I have a question for the Professionals here at HHW.

Doris Day signed a contract with Columbia Records in the 1950's for $1,000,050 - would that be a guarantee against royalties or would that have been her salary for the stipulated time no matter how many records she sold....and so would she NOT get royalties from CD's made from these masters?  How many LP's did she make for Columbia anyway?

I just watched BATMAN AND ROBIN. That's another movie I've always liked that everyone else detests (from yesterday's question), even though I can see that it's a terrible movie.

But the colorful picture literally bursts from the screen (the first time I have seen it on my HDTV), and the sound is spectacular. It was a fun away to spend a couple of hours.

Next up, PRIVATES ON PARADE, I think.

MattH, I am shocked!

I think the Doris Day shows are coming to home vid - I was just sent a copy of the CBS pilot I did, Young Love, which was a sort-of spinoff from Doris's show.  There were actually two versions filmed - one with Doris, one without.  The regular pilot, without DD, aired once - I have it on video from a 16mm print.  I don't know that I've seen the one with the added Doris scenes, which I think only involved her and Meredith Baxter.

I'm sleepy and feeling that it's Friday. Have been feeling ever since Tuesday that the weekend is the next day. (I was saying "Have a good weekend!" to people on Wednesday.) Very confusing! ::)

I feel this is quite an achievement and that it is a time for celebration.  I, myself, have just done the Bunny Hop, the Meringue AND the Limbo.

And I, personally, ate some lemon meringue

LOL DRPANNI - it's Thursday for a few more hours.

Hopefully DRJOSE's show will start on time tonight.  Did you read that?  Curtain held on account of slow waiters!  LOL

Hi Everyone!

I didn't have to work overtime tonight.

Congrats on the 90000 posts!  Go Us!   :)

Every good wish and vibe to OzDerek.  Come back to us stong and well sooner than soon!

DR Elmoore, best health vibes your way as well.  I hope this will all be past you by the time we all meet in March.  I want you to be healthy and happy and pain free so you will enjoy the evening.

I'm getting ready to book the trip.  I'm torn between coming up on Friday in the morning or leaving at around eleven and getting in around two.  The check in time is about three if I go with the Milford.  I looked at some of the other hotels but for the price and the location, I think it is the best choice.

I can't remember which hotel you all said had the cookies anyway.

I can't get on the site for the tickets or I would book mine right now.  I click on allowing pop ups but it still won't come up.

I can't have any pastries right now.  I'm just starting my diet and must be true until the trip.  I am looking foward to getting a chocolate cigar at one of the bakeries on Broadway.  I had one almost every day when I was there last May.

There was a flat sandwich that I wanted to try but only discovered it on the morning I was to leave.  I didn't get the chance to get one.  I will this time!

Is there anything Doris couldn't do?

Including landing a prop passenger plane!  Julie........................

As I said before - I saw this movie at the drive in with other members of my family and went around singing the theme song at age six, until my mother made me stop!

"Julie.................it's the voice of my own love....and it promises EGG-STICEEEEEE!"

Of course this is nothing compared to DRJOSE's audition for his grade school program singing "I Enjoy Being a Girl" !

PRIVATES ON PARADE, a British "USO" troupe during the Second World War travels about entertaining British troops in remote areas. As they travel, we get the lowdown on all the major members of the troupe, their backstories and what happens as a result of their experiences. It is hilarious, tuneful, and deeply moving. Based on a British play that also starred the marvelous Denis Quilley.

Thanks for the info...and others who've contributed to my knowledge of this movie that I've owned for more than 10 years but have never watched! ::)

Danise I suggest you take the earlier flight.  If all goes well and you arrive on time just check your luggage if your room isn’t ready and go play.

I missed the actual 90,000 moment!  We're still learning new things with our new computer system, so I haven't had much time to check in.  I'm starting to understand it (slowly) but it's happening...slowly.

He has a beautiful voice...particularly considering he is so young (19 or 20 years old). I have one of his CDs...he sings a lot of standards and 60s easy listening type hits..at least on the CD that I have.

Peter Cincotti seems like a fairly talented young up-and-coming, but from what I've heard, ticket sales have not been going well, at all.  It's the Washington Center's CenterFest, which is their big, once a year big-money fund raiser.  In the past, they've had Bernadette Peters, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., Gregory Hines (two years ago) and last year, Tony Bennett.  One idea was Julio Iglesias.  I suggested The Manhattan Transfer, but they didn't choose either of them.  Oh well...there's no accounting for taste. ::)
