I am still incredibly sick, even though I spent most of yesterday sleeping. Oy.

I also loved Cruella De Vil when I was a kid--one of the first tunes I learned to play on the piano. My sister still sings it to me occasionally when she visits.

I'm having brain dysfunction this morning--is it I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles or I'm Always Chasing Rainbows that's based on Rachmoninov? I'm thinking it's Rainbows.

Good morning!

Ah, the dangers of a new "toy". I was trying to configure some stuff on my new iBook last night. Trying, and trying, and trying. Thankfully, I was able to stop trying since I had "solved" one major issue having to do with the network connection setup. Whew! Of course, after I fixed it, I then proceeded to try out various others features that I wasn't able to try until after I had configured everything correctly. And, of course, by that time, it was almost 4:00AM!!!! So...

My apologies for being errant and truant yesterday, and due to two shows today, I shall have to be errant and truant again for most of today.

Yes, I do accept my fate: a bitch-slapping with a wet noodle. Maybe even two wet noodles.

At least I knew it was based on a famous pianist/composer. That's amazingly close considering how out of it I am.

Good morning.
I was roused earlier than usual (8:30) by calls from one of the foster families, wondering if I was going to be picking up the kids soon. Such incredible lack of communication in that system. I was told that someone was covering my Saturday case since it's the last Saturday, but apparently they couldn't do it. No one bothered to call any of the families involved. I don't have the other contact info at home, so I'm helpless. I feel so badly for these families who are just jerked around through the system. So the worry for them kept me awake, and now I'm up for awhile.

I see a nap in my future

I wish it were bright blue around these here parts. It's more of a dreary gray outside.

My favourite cartoon songs:

There is a Warners Bros. cartoon that I wish they'd put out on DVD or something that I've only seen once. I think the title is the title of the song that's feature, sung by a young rabbit, if I recall called I WEAR MY GREEN FEDORA FOR DORA, which has always stayed with me and I love, I send my wife into hysterics with my brief imitation of it, because I only remember the first line...I wish I could find a copy of the song or the cartoon.

The other is in another Warner Bros. cartoon which I do have a copy of called I WANNA SING (about the moona and the junea and the springa). It's sung by a young owl (and Cartman in one of the South Park does a brief impersonation of it). I also have a Cab Calloway 78 of it.

I do remember Walter Lantz cartunes and it includes one of my fav songs from an Andy Panda cartune..."DON'T LISTEN TO THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE NIGHT GOWN". Strange but zippy number.

From features, it would have to "WHEN I SEE AN ELEPHANT FLY." from Dumbo. I also like the Roustabout song.

Since cartoon songs and great dog pictures seem to be on today's agenda. The Lovely Wife used to sing Beauty and the Beast to Hotspur, our late great yorkie. Below is a picture of Spur about a year before he passed away in 92' at fifteen. Julieanne still weeps whenever see hears the song or sings it, as it is now indeliably tied to Hotspur.

I think "Baby Mine" would be #1 on my list. "Christmas Time is Here" would be #2. "We Can Fly" woulfd be #3. There are so many others--- from "A Dream Is Wish Your Heart Makes" to "RazzleBerry Dressing."

"I Love to Singa and "Green Fedora" were both legitimate songs used in the cartoons. I think Jolson actually did "I Love to Singa" and Warners used it in the cartoon of the same name. Warners always used all their songs in the cartoons Smart boys-- they plug the song AND get the money for it. I wear my green fedora for Dora... "not Alice, not Mary, but for Dora "cause Dora is the one I lo---ove."
