I was born in Alabama and lived in Georgia, California and Texas and by the time I was four, we moved to Germany. I have very few memories of Texas only. When I was six or seven (the summer between first and second grades), we moved to Colorado. We lived there until I was 10 and have lived in Washington State ever since. Those are where I've lived.

As an adult, I've actually visited California, Oregon, Indiana (when I was in college) and New York. That's it...at least that's all I can remember.

As for visiting places I've never been...I'd love to see the Grand Canyon...but that's not a state

George, DO NOT visit the Grand Canyon if you are bothered by heights. My depth perception problems kicked in and, spectacular as the canyon was, I had trouble controlling my stomach.

Re Li'l Abner - I didn't really know anything about it when I first saw the film in 1959. I became a fan after that, and read The World of Li'l Abner paperback tie-in with the film.

DR SWW, that's not always the case with revisals or revivals. Most of the time, when a local theatre company does a show that went through a revival or revisal, the materials that are send from the publishing house are the original Broadway book/score. Not many of the new orchestrations or even new scripts of old shows are always available. What the sad part is, is that people TRY and do the revival/revisal with the old material - some pull it off, and others don't, usually quite badly!!

I know of that happening at least twice. In 1934, Will Rogers was the MC and called Diana Wynward and Mae Robson up to the dias leading the audience to expect that there was a tie for Best Actress. Instead, he kissed both ladies and announced that Katharine Hepburn had won the award. (She, of course, was not there.)

The other time happened in 1941 when the Best Director nominees were called to the dias so the losers could congratulate the winner. John Ford wasn't there to collect his prize leaving losing nominees George Cukor, Alfred Hitchcock, William Wyler, and Sam Wood with egg on their faces.

Back in those early Oscar days, the complete results of the balloting were always revealed, and it's fun to see what came in second. For Best Picture in 1933, CAVALCADE bested #2 A FAREWELL TO ARMS and #3 LITTLE WOMEN. Mae Robson came in second to Hepburn and Charles Laughton defeated Paul Muni by only a few votes for Best Actor.

Which points out the problem. You would be on that stage voluntarily. The other nominees were called up without being given a choice by Moore. His having them stand behind him made them all appear to agree with him, regardless of whether they did or not.

Good Afternoon!

The two white chocolate cheesecakes are cooling off in the oven, and I shall place them in the fridge before I leave for the show tonight. This was my first attempt at making a white chocolate cheesecake. I looked up a few in books and on the net, and they all just seemed to be slight variations on the standard cheesecake recipe with the addition of white chocolate. They actually browned a little more on top than I'm used to, but after checking some of the recipes, some of them actually call for the top to brown (and the edges to crack). So... Once I cover them in white chocolate shavings... -Oh, I'm making them for one of the dresser's birthday tomorrow.

I was going to make some cookies, but just not in the mood for it.

I'm feeling a little out of sorts. And, yes, it's the stitch/cramp/pain in my right side. It actually does feel better, but my mind just keeps overwhelming itself with thoughts of appendicitis or gallstones. Now is just not a good time for me to deal with any sort of major medical issues. -But, of course, when is a good time?

But I did take my temperature, and I'm not running a fever. In fact, I seem to be running a little cool - 97.2 - so maybe I'm just dealing with a very minor, minor cold/whatever right now. So...

A doctor friend of mine up here in Arlington said I could see him tomorrow if I'm still not feeling "well". I ran through my symptoms or lack thereof with him over the phone, and he thinks it's just some muscle pull - and that I'm probably just pushing myself a little too much with my workout right now. -Which I have done before, so...

I just need to stop thinking so much.
