Well, it took only 50 minutes wait to get on a computer this afternoon at the library.  It's because a million homeless derelicts hang out here and kill their time by idling it away in front of a screen.  Color me highly pissed.

Now I have to leave for dinner.  I will check in tomorrow morning, and then fly back to New York (home, sweet Manhattan!).

DR Elmore - ah, yes, the productive class!  Anyway, I meant to tell you yesterday that Schlotzky's Deli and Kidd Coffee, both out in the mall area, have PC's for customers to use.  Oh, well, maybe for your next visit!

Safe travels tomorrow!

Thanks for the pic of DR Sandra. And I am drinking Diet COke as we speak. (Sorry, no Diet CHerry COke sold in this vicinity in quite a while.)

So... off I go into my day. Still waiting for the alleged 'sun' to make its appearance. OH! Hey! I didn't tell you - I had raccoons last night!!! two young 'uns - heard 'em clunking around on my deck at about 2 am, checking out the wood rick for the peanuts my jays and chipmunks hid there... so I got the cat food, scared the bejesus outa them when I opened the bedroom door to fill their dish - then, watched with my nose pressed to the glass for a good half hour! Oh, lovely little forest critters!!! How happy they do make me!

Have you named them?  I grew up with Peter Rabbit, Chippy Squirrel, Bambi and Babe the deer, Jenny Wren....I can't remember all of them. My mother names all the regulars

It took most of this afternoon for me to get the hang of the Calendar function in Microsoft Outlook.  I've been asked to use it and share my calendar with the world (well, our department, at least).  This is in preparation for the "independence" I will have 4 days out of 5.  It's a pretty scary thing for the autocracy in which I work.

Well, today has been an interesting day. I had to go to LeMars to see a client this morning. The ice cream parlor was closed - I think because of a multiple homocide/suicide.  A guy killed his wife and 2 teenage kids. They were having a press conference at the jail, so I also saw all the high school kids who were there to hear about their friends. Very sad.  (this relates to the ice cream parlor because man and his wife worked for the ice cream company)

On another note, I am taking steps to get a chunk of time off so I can figure out what I want to be when I grow up.  I should know next week if I can swing it.  I hope so.

This sounds serious, DR Cillaliz.  Introspection vibes to you.

A homocide?

What on earth....?  Is that like a gay guy who was married being shot by his spouse who then took her own life?

Dear Reader Laura - mazel tov! And Sandra, you look just glorious in that purple gown! Happy happy happy day to you!

Cillaliz - nope, no names for the animals. The one blue jay with a crippled foot I call Little Crippled Foot Guy... the Chipmunk with the big scar on his side, where he probably escaped from the feral cat that keeps my house mouse-free, I call Chippie with the Scar. The Raccoons get called Baby Raccoon! and Ohhhh! Other Baby Raccoon!! and like that...
