I got THE PRODUCERS (musical) in the mail yesterday, but I doubt I'll get to it since I have at least four hours of shows on the DVR to watch at some point. It'll have to wait for the weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRANCOIS!!

TOD - I love the word "crepuscule" ... which means twilight; also, "crupuscular" - having a quality of twilight. I actually used the first in a sonnet I wrote in eleventh grade. It's ever so much prettier in French...

TAR Spoiler.......................

I was also very pleased with the TAR outcome, the hippies were a great team and I loved how they had such fun during the entire race...it is too bad that some teams get so stressed out that they can't have fun and enjoy the fact that they are doing so many fun things and visiting so many great places.

I had no problem with the final challenge being mental...I think that is an important attribute to have in this game and some temas have it and some don't, just as some teams are great with the physical and some aren't.

And lastly, I am so glad that the teams finally have gone to Japan...it is such a beautiful country and it brought back such memories of my trip there! And I am trying to remember if that hotel in the show was the one I stayed at in Narita (near the airport). I will have to dig out my Japan memorabilia and find out.

And the current Broadway Musical The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee began life as a play called Crepuscule

TOD - my considered response, now that I'm on my lunch hour and can post more thoroughly:

There used to be a restaurant in the former Rookwood Pottery factory building in the Mt. Adams region of Cincinnati.  Their sandwiches carried famous Cincinnati names and I always ordered the

Erkenbreckerburger

because I liked to say it!  The Cincinnati Zoo is on Erkenbrecker Ave.

Happy Birthday, DR Francois!  I think we may have to rewish our Happy Birthdays this weekend, when he is able to log on.

Glad to see you found a way to log in and post again, DR Danise. It's too quiet without you!

This is Gabe's favorite word, which he uses regularly to stump visitors at our house:

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Now you know why we have so few return visitors.  :)

DD and DBF had a divine time in Pareee with DR. Francois. They spent hours together, laughed, dished the dirt, ate, then laughed some more. DD unfortunately forgot to take a photo! She gave DR Francois the ulitimate compliment. He was deemed COOL.

TOD: MOUFLON (a kind of wild sheep). That word has always made me laugh. Don't ask why, it just has.

The Rookwood Pottery building is still a restaurant, but now it's called

Porkopolis

which is one of Cincinnati's nicknames and a pretty funny word in itself.

Questions that loom in my life:

Will there be another dog in our life soon?  (Angie's placement with her new family is quite successful, good news there.)

Funny he should ask:

BLACKIE

Quote
The keys to making him adoptable are house training (he is very smart, but never lived in doors until we got him and boarded him) and his fear of sudden male movements since he was attacked by a machetti (can't spell it) that left him with an enormous gash on his neck about 3 inches wide and 6 inches long. Overall, he loves belly rubs, walks (needs some more leash manners) can sit and shake and loves car rides and running/playing. An experienced man like you would most likely be the answer to getting him to trust again...he really wants to love!!

4 year old Labx presently being kenneled, needs a Foster home and help in getting adopted.

Will the new summer trainees at work, foreign exchange students mostly from Russia, be an interesting batch, or will they mostly hang out with just each other?

And the next door 4 bedroom/2 bath hacienda is housing 19 of them!!!

Re: the tasks in TAR being physical vs mental.

My sister also thought it was great to have a mental challenge at the end (so that someone like fran and barry could have a chance).

I disagree. I have no problem with their being mental challenges throughout the race. But i do have a problem with them having such a mental one as the final challenge.

They equalized the teams so many times last night, it almost bordered on it being unfair.

I can accept if the final bit is not completely physical. I mean there have been races where the teams had to run a long way, which meant the most physical team would win.

It just sort of seemed a bit unfair to have a team lose solely because they were not the smartest.

I liked all 3 of the final teams. I knew i didn't want ray and yolanda to win because i thought they were less deserving.  But as i was watching the final show, there were times when i would be really happy for the hippies (since i love them). Like I was really happy they did so well in tokyo.

I actually like the hippies better than the frats. BUt i thought the frats were more deserving. And maybe it's only be, but that last challenge left a really bad taste in my mouth.  Just watching the frats have that lead, and knowing that the hippies were ivy league made it really obvious who was gonna win. And i don't like that.

Oh gosh i did something to my neck and i'm in pain.

I have a very weak neck. And many years ago i had to wear a brace (for a summer, and not even because of an accident). Now it is delicate.

And I think i must have slept on it wrong (that or my hair was a bit wet when i went to bed).

WEll this morning it is really hurting. I put some special cream on it.

I know i could use a muscle relaxant. and it would feel much better. But that would knock me out (it makes all my muscles a bit numb). I guess that will be a last resort tonight.
