So, I woke up to No Electricity and heavy clouds this morning... think I'm being readied to sell this place and re-locate to Sunny Southern California??
I got some very good work done on my coming presentation yesterday, after which I drove into Seattle to give a singing lesson to a former student... actually a current student - we have another lesson on Thursday.
Here's a tip, for free: An audition is a performance. Deliver a great three-minute performance, and they may be tempted to offer you the opportunity of a longer one...
So - if you have an audition coming at ya in the Near Future, DO NOT attempt to learn a new song to sing at that audition. Auditions are stressful - stress tends to shorten breath, increase heart rate, send your blood to your extremities... all of which somewhat hamper precise mental cogitation... On an audition, sing something you know well, where you could flip the Go switch and it would practically sing itself. Learn the new song when you have weeks to get it committed to memory, work out the bugs, style it, rehearse it, and ready it for performance.
