TCB - I am so sorry for your loss. More and more frequent as we get older, isn't it...

Hiya, Jose!

Oh - before I forget - night before last I had Key Lime Pie for the first time. Very tasty - I might actually have it again some time.

And, yes, it is currently raining, drizzling and/or storming here in New York City.  However, the rains didn't come until the early evening yesterday even though the skies looked pretty cloudy and "dark" for most of the day.

*I had to head down to the Post Office across from Penn Station this morning.  The atmosphere on the subway platform was truly stifling.  :-\

TOD - I would keep that cabin for the rest of my life, and go to it every summer for three months. Or four. And I'd have a swell apartment in Noo Yawk City, overlooking the Hudson River. Winters - well, I do love southern Cal - maybe get something in the Malibu mountains... view of the ocean, place for a donkey and some peacocks!

Ah... "Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island" were truly must-see TV for me and my friends when they were on.

And just how many times did Barbi Benton appear on both shows?

;)

*And I guess wishing that Ted McGinley would have more shirtless time on the show was sort of an early "indicator" of sorts.

As for the Topic of The Day...

Australia - I've only been to Surfer's Paradise (Gold Coast), Melbourne and Sydney, and I'd take any or all of them.  A nice beach bungalow in Surfer's Paradise.  One of the suites in The Crown in Melbourne overlooking the Yarra River, and maybe a place in DR Tomovoz's neck of the woods.  Then a small flat somewhere near the Harbor Bridge, Botanic Gardens and Opera House.

Otherwise...

A place in The Village here in New York City, and a penthouse on Central Park West.

And I actually wouldn't mind living back in Richmond, preferably in one of those wonderful old houses along Monument Avenue, or one on the James River.

I have End of Summer here.  Watching Floating Weeds (color remake) now - it's a stunning color transfer from Criterion - the other two color Ozu films have been hideous transfers, literally vomit green.

PennyO, when are you coming over to hear stuff?

I would like to live in England and spend time getting to know my relatives there.  I would recapture my English accent (the one I grew up with thanks to my mother) eat fruitcake with marzipan, humbugs, & custard pie to my hearts content.  I would find & explore all the family homes and burial sites.  Then I would travel to Whales and find where my grandfather is buried in his pauper’s grave.

I think it would be wonderful to live in the Italian country side and learn the beautiful language.

Hello from Big Spirit Lake. I listened to the weather - low 70s and rainy. It is now in the 80s sunny and no wind. Of course I didn't bring my shorts! LOL.

Hiya, gang.

I'm gearing up for this interview on Tuesday. I spoke with a former Artistic Director of said company a couple of days ago. The last Artistic Director of said company apparently came in last October and lasted until March... hmmmm... Well, you KNOW I'll be interviewing THEM as much as they are interviewing me. Difficult doesn't mean impossible - but it gives one pause. I must say, I've seen some of the shows in years past, and the quality was WAY up there. And the production budget is tantalizing, the salary would be the highest I ever had, plus REAL good bennies. More after I meet with them on Tuesday...

Is this an Equity house, PennyO?

DR PennyO - I love Key Lime Pie, especially in the summer. Something about a cool citrus flavor when it's hot that I find quite appealing.  I'm on a lemonade kick right now

DR Rodzinski - I, too, spent a lot of time reading the Peanuts fan sites last night.  Charles M. Shulz was an Army buddy of my 6th grade homeroom teacher. Mr Rainey used to tell us stories about him all the time. And of course there are the great peanuts statues around St. Paul. I have some photos of them at home, I'll try to remember to post one or two when I get back

TOD - Actually, I don't think I'd want to live anywhere but where I am.  I considered moving last year and the process of thinking it through made me realize that this is where I want to be.  I wouldn't mind visiting other places, but live there...no...it's the good old prairie for me
