I could use a Hot Pocket right now, to replenish all those burned-up calories from typing.  :)

Hot Pockets - You apply them directly to your thighs and butt.

Rita Rudner had a great joke:  If you have cottage cheese thighs, instead of exercising, just try to make them look more attractive.  Try putting a peach half next to them.

No, I woke up at 4 a.m., and it was about 88F. Too warm already.

I sanded and stained today. And I discovered my new self-closing hinges won't fit.

Surely in four hours, the West Coasters can get us to page 7, right?

DR MATTH - I am very fond of Mr Dan Dailey and his dancing.  He makes a LOT of movies worth watching....including MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS.  And his TV series THE GOVERNOR & JJ.

I like him very much, too, and I feel he gets forgotten when folks think of the great musical stars of the 1940s and 1950s. He even earned an Oscar nomination for one of those Fox musicals, something not too many of his musical contemporaries can claim.

I was pleased that Dr. Drew Casper in his commentary acknowledged his transvestism and bisexuality in his detailing his life and career. Often the folks who participate in these commentaries don't give full details of the lives of these stars. Casper doesn't do it in a gossipy way but rather matter-of-factly.

A NEW movie I saw recently that I deeply recommend to you when it reaches your neck of the woods:

PARIS, JE T'AIME!

Wonderful concept and moving moments!

Remember: you read it FIRST here at HHW!

I can still hum the theme music from THE GOVERNOR AND JJ.  Very catchy.

So, I enjoyed Drew Casper's commentary for MY BLUE HEAVEN more than for THE DOLLY SISTERS though it still smacks of lecture-itis. And he does make a number of errors in his haste to squeeze in as many words as possible in as short a time as possible.

Monday is my Mom's 78th birthday, so Mom and Dad are coming in from Brooklyn tomorrow to celebrate.  They always show up earlier than requested.  So I may be E&T for much of the day.

After I finished with MY BLUE HEAVEN, I watched the last two episodes of THE CLOSER. Both were among my favorite episodes of the season. The next-to-last becasue it featured hunky guest star Jason O'Mara playing a role which was miles away from his noble leading character on IN JUSTICE.

(In fact, this may be the recurring character coming back on this week's episode if it isn't Douglas Sills.)

The last of the first season's episodes finally had the squad standing behind their female chief in a show of loyalty when she was threatened with an Internal Affairs investigation. The mystery of this episode was probably the easiest to predict of any during the season, but the squad's camaraderie finally gelling with Brenda was tear-inducing.
