When I taught school, we were evauluated every three years. It was an elaborate process of completing forms and having scheduled and unscheduled (surprise) visits from the principal. During and after each visit (one scheduled, two surprise), the principal would meet to look at lesson plans for the class he had just observed, inspect grade books, look at tests and how they were graded, etc. It only happened every three years because all of this took an enormous amount of time in addition to the principal's other duties, and so the faculty had to be divided into three parts, and even then, assistant principals and the guidance director often did the evaluations rather than the principal.

Off to do that miserable Friday mopping chore and then settle in with Miss Mary Tyler Moore before enjoying MONK and PSYCH.

I can't believe it, really, but my computer came back today.  They got it yesterday morning and I have it back today.  Amazing.  Vinnie's coming over later to clone the backup drive onto the fixed Powerbook.  And then, hopefully, everything will be back to normal.

Well, all progress of the evening in Cat land was wiped out this morning.  The vet said to try Fel-Away  it's some phermone thing that's supposed to make every cat believe that the scent on the furniture etc is their onw and they own the world.  I guess it's worth a try. She said if it doesn't work in 3 weeks that it isn't going to work....

As if to prove a point, as I was reading your post, Cillaliz, Nicky walked up behind Angel and bit a clump of hair out of her tail.  This resulted in heavy hissing from Angel and a smug look from Nicky as he walked around with white fur sticking out of his mouth.

I loved GRINDL and was very unhappy when it didn't last beyong its initial season. Always adored Imogene Coca.

So did I, until I met her.

As am I, DR Elmore!  Guess if we can't go to the HHW gathering in Tacoma, a movie in Middletown is the next best thing.

Now who says you can't do the gathering in Tacoma?   If you left now.............. drove all night and all day tomorrow......... took a half hour nap at the rest stop, and then drove the rest of the way; why, you would be here in plenty of time?

Of course if you started walking now you could make it to Tacoma for an Early October event.

Well all is not quiet on the kitty front. Tonight Callie did more than threaten an attack, she attacked.   I have decided to start looking for a good home for Boo.  She's a dear, and I could give it more time, but I've decided that I just can't do that...well I'll do it until I find a good home. I've sent an email out to the "animal people" I know. We'll see what comes of it.  I'm also going to ask my neighbor when he gets home and offer to be a cat sitter whenever necessary. That would really be the best thing, but I don't know if I can convince him.

In case you don't notice!

François will be back early next month. I doubt he will have access to a computer during his vacation.

I am very happy that Boo has gained a half pound, she's now spayed and she's healthy.   It shouldn't be too hard to find someone to love her.   I'm thinking about checking down at the senior center and seeing if anyone there would like a cat.  She would be perfect for someone living alone.

Oh, no blood shed or injuries in the attack. Just one terrified little black kitten.

Well, I (finally) just ordered "Doctor Who:  The Complete Series" and have signed up (for a trial period of time) for Amazon Prime, where I can get them delivered at the two-day shipping for free!  So, my order should arrive on Tuesday, instead of a couple of weeks or three from now.  I intend to opt-out of the service BEFORE the $79 fee kicks in.  I've always chosen the free shipping option and have not minded the extra wait time...so far.

If they're not harming one another, you really should consider giving them more time to adjust.

Callie obviously has no use for a "new" cat after finding herself the "sole" cat in your house.

That terrified kitty will grow and defend herself.

And I'm betting Callie wouldn't be antagonistic toward Boo when you aren't around/in the room.

Sad news to report - Laura Elliot, aka Kasey Rogers, aka Mrs. Guy Haines, has passed away from cancer.  She was a fantastic, warm and wonderful woman who I'm happy to have known for the last six years.

Well, I've put the word out that I'm looking for a home for her. If I can find a good home, I will let her go.  But I'm being very picky. She'll be here in the meantime. I don't plan to put them together again.  We'll see
