Watched four different things tonight.

I began with Shirley Temple's HEIDI.

I resisted buying this again when it came out last year in that boxed set, but getting a good price on this DVD persuaded me to bite the bullet and do it. I'm glad I did because the video quality is much, much better: better contrast and sharper despite some speckles and scratches.

Always enjoy this film, among my very favorite Temple movies.

Next came ALL ABOUT EVE. Of course, I only got an hour in, but I'll finish it tomorrow. One of the all-time greats.

I'm assuming that the GREY'S ANATOMY episodes being shown on Thursdays are from season 1 pretty much in order since this episode had to do with Izzy and George moving in and making themselves at home in Grey's house. (They were told they could move in at the end of last week's second episode.)

I know the Sunday rerun episodes come from this season since we had a Thanksgiving episode last Sunday.

Anyway, tonight's show had a male patient flirting with George, and some beautiful writing concerning organ harvesting.

While I was watching GREY'S ANATOMY, I had the DVR recording CSI which I watched at 10 p.m. Lots of fairly famous folks in this week's episode: Judd Nelson, John Michael Higgins, Kenneth Johnson. I had seen the episode, but I didn't remember the solution of the crime.

There were also several looks passed back and forth between Grisson and Sarah which made the season finale not so much of a jaw-dropper any more. I had forgotten all this stuff had happened.

DearReader Laura - from what I've read this serial killer is shooting walkers near the area where you walk...is that true? If so, maybe it's time to drive somewhere else to walk or something...take care!!!!

TCB - Does that mean the only way someone can buy a ticket to any one of the readings is by paying $75 to see all six readings in the festival?

Back to the TOD: The following is a sampling of the 4 notebooks full of autographed photos I have obtained either personally or through the mail...

First off is a man that many of you will recall from westerns in the 1950s...that luciously handsome Mr. Guy Madison!!

He signed this photo as well as one of him in his Wild Bill Hickcock gear.

Another TV icon, Mr. Raymond Burr...I wrote to him and he signed this photo for me about a year or two before he passed away.

Looking through my autographs it is very sad to notice that about half of those I got autgraphs from back in the 1990s are now gone  :'(

Of course I have always loved television so I guess I tended to get the autographs of lots of TV stars...but this guy, for me at least, was best known for his roles in SAYONARA and THE CHILDREN'S HOUR...the impossibly charming James Garner...

And for some of you who are more familiar with today's TV I think you will recognize this handsome man from the current hit DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES....of course I got Richard Burgi's autograph back when he was starring on the little known TV show 1 WEST WAIKIKI...back then I am sure he was thrilled that anyone would even want his autograph! LOL!

Once TPunk and I were at a mall in NJ and she was shopping, and I got a bit bored and saw that some soap actress was getting ready to sign autographs, so I got in line. She was from a CBS soap, so I didn't know who she was, but she was very friendly and even signed at my request; "To Tom, You're the Greatest!" which amuses me because I am easily amused I guess. Michelle Stafford says I am the greatest!

Ya, well, enough of the females, let us get back to the men...Christian Boeving was, and I think still is, a young struggling actor...so of course I liked to lend my support by making him feel, you know, like someone was interested in his...ahem ...career...

Did Raymond Burr trace over his own autograph? He must have been happy to see such a slender photo of himself.

Here is a pride and joy, and one that DR Elmoore will be proud that I got, Myrna Loy...have you ever seen such a lovely photo of her!!

She was one of the first celebrities that I wrote to for an autograph and one of the few really big stars I tried to collect.

I am not sure what happened with his...he wasn't well at that time so his hand might have been a bit shaky...interestingly enough, that did happen with an autographed photo I sent to Peggy Webber...her pen wouldn't write and so she kept tracing over her signature with another pen...and wrote me a long letter apoligizing for messing up the photo, and even letting me know that she went all over the place trying to find a replacement photo at Los Angeles memorabilia stores..what a sweet lady!

Actually, they say there are TWO serial shooters. One of the attacks was about a mile from us.

Ok, I digress...back to the men...here is Mr. America 1948 Clarence Ross who now resides in southern California and in his letter back to me, is living with a couple of lady friends!

I believe he was well known for his big guns  ::)

Michael Curtiz....indeed.  I always pictured myself more as Douglas Sirk or Jean Negulesco.

Opening night went well....hysterical girl pulled it together and did fine....hopefully she can do it again tomorrow night for a sold out house.
