Happy Birthday, DR jhvw!!

Be sure to post a photo of your birthday cake! It's a long-time tradition here at HHW. Well, sometimes.

If I left now, I'd get to Pasadena in time for my meeting. I don't think that flying really saves time.

;D - but my chest size increased. . . . >:(
Why does this remind me of Terri Garr in Oh God:

"I must, I must, I must increase my bust!"

TOD:

Yesterday, I indulged in some shopping!!!

Books:
The Food of France, by Waverly Root.  It's considered a classic on the subject.

Fork It Over, by Alan Richman, who is a pompous jerk but writes well.

CDs:
Sunday in the Park with George, the 2006 London Cast Recording.  Der B and I played this on our way home.  We both enjoyed it a lot.  For a reduced orchestration, which had us concerned, it held up quite well.

By Request, by Wendy Carlos.  Originally released in 1975, back when I was in college and Wendy was still known as Walter, this is a mixed bag, ranging from her early electronic experiments to a variation and fantasy on a theme by Elgar titled "Pompous Circumstances," a long piece that was actually banned in Britain!  It also has the craziest instrumental rendition of "What's New Pussycat" that I've ever heard, the craziest vocal version of course being that of Jason Graae.

And...

DVD:
Chuck Jones - Extremes and Inbetweens.  I don't know if this is a bio or an interview or what.  It originally was broadcast on PBS as part of Great Performances, and includes Jones himself commenting on his work.  Jones is a hero of mine, and I look forward to watching it.

Aeroplane, heliocopter, or balloon?  They all have their advantages.

Hopefully, der Brucer will go through the pics I/we took yesterday, so I will be able to post a few of them after I get home from work!  Won't that be frabjous?

And I had no trouble at all with the Cracked pic.

I've a new game:

Take a title, and change the circumstances about the author along with a slight change in the title.

For example: Ann Rand gets drunk = Atlas Chugged.

Andrew Lloyd Webber en gelee = Aspics of Love.

yes, I did enjoy SCANDAL....more than MR BK it seems.  But then Mr Mifune is SO intense - and the subject is still so contemporary, that it was a terrific watch.

Friday morning greetings!  Today is an information-waitressing day for me - so far, it's pretty quiet.

TOD

CD(car):  The Drowsy Chaperone OBC

DVD:  The Songcatcher and Capote.  Yes, we had Capote from Netflix last week, too, but the disc was damaged.  They sent a replacement right away.

Good morning!

It was nicely cool this morning, cool enough to fling open the windows and doors and cool the house down naturally.

Going to get hot this afternoon, however. Ah well. . . .

I saw the Cracked cover with no trouble at all, and that surprises me because I'm on a loptop with very limited RAM.

Very curious.

Ah 23, that's the age I was when I began my romance with Rodzinski.
