I'm sleeping late a lot these days! Good morning, all! I was up at 6:30 when the alarm went off, then went back to bed. I had this strange dream about copying music from the original orchestra score for "Easter Parade" from the AS THOUSANDS CHEER score. Somehow, my dad was in the dream as well, and there was this discussion about the whole number or only sections of it. It makes no sense now that I'm awake.
I've got some computer work on THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER today, as well as a trip to my doctor who lanced the abscess. I screwed up my appointment date and missed seeing him for dismissal before I returned to Ohio. So, today, he'll check out his work and, hopefully, release me.
DR td, the responsibility for being a lifeline is huge. I was flattered when Charlie asked me in 2001; I was one of four froiends he chose. On the day he was on the show, he had a medical question he couldn't answer so he used his lifeline in Boston, a doctor. My memory is that he won close to $100,000, and he was smart enough to quit when a question he was unsure of came up that he knew I could answer and he couldn't use my help. The question: who was Nora Charles of THE THIN MAN based on? Tallulah Bankhead? Lillian Hellman? Dorothy Parker?
After he won, he decided to do something for and with each of his lifelines. He took me to see THE PRODUCERS and dinner. I called the conductor for house seats and we had a great evening out. He used the money to pay off his college loans, put some in savings, and took a nice vacation.
