Well, you've read the notes, the notes were coochy coochy, and now it is time for you to post until the coochy coochy cows come home.

Last night, I watched a couple of episodes of "Psych" (I really like this show) but after the second episode, I fell asleep!  I can't remember the last time I fell asleep while watching TV.  But at least I did manage to finish the second episode before I zonked out. ;) I must really be tired, so I'm off to bed.

I still have a lot of stuff to box up and put in storage (and it'll take a few more days), but I won't have to do too much, today.  It's my dad's 68th birthday!  I bought him a DVD set of five John Ford movies.  I'm sure he'll love it. :D

We're going to a Chinese buffet restaurant this afternoon. I think it's actually one of my mom's favorite restaurants, but he must like it, too.  He wouldn't want to go if he didn't like it.  I'm surprised that he didn't want to go to dinner at the local casino. ::) Both my parents love to go there!

It's almost 1:30 a.m., and it's warm and muggy right now. :P

I'm off to bed.  Good night, BK!

Long strange night last night was. Just got home a little bit ago. Went out drinking and painting the town brown, partying like rockstars. Do it while your young I keep telling myself. While my dear sweet partner is soundly sleeping I'm kept up going over all that transpired tonight. I know this is going to catch up with me sometime today. Thats what Sundays are for I guess, a day of rest.

Good morning, all!  I had a very strange dream involving PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY, Stephen Sondheim, and Chelsea Music Service!  Oy!

I have to go into the office, continue with the edits, meet Andy Monroe at THE FANTASTICKS matinee, and attend a social gathering at the home of our DR FJL and Skip Kennon.   All in all, I believe it will be a wonderful day.

So, Dear Friend BK, you're going to AIDA?  Time was when this meant only one thing: a night at the opera.  I'm correct in assuming that for you it's a night at a dreadful musical?

Sunday morning greetings!

Yesterday was a long, grueling day in Delaware, OH.  The conference went fine, but the people responsible for keeping the speakers within their timetables did not do their job.  By the time my turn came, in the last time slot of the day, we were 10 minutes from the published adjournment time.  I chucked most of my presentation, passed around the chocolate and my handout, and became the day's "sacrificial lamb."  Oh, well, I'm just glad it's over.

Ginny, sorry that happened to you.

(In the future, would you be able to insist that you not be the last time slot of the day?  Or would you never have control over that?)

DR FJL - please give hugs from me to all your guests today - wish I could be there.  I, too, received theater tickets in the mail yesterday - 2 on an aisle for A Chorus Line!

Actually, DR FJL, I am in charge of the next state-wide event put on by this organization.  There is one person, who contributed most to the delay, who will never be handed a microphone at any event for which I'm responsible.

Good morning!

I was up andoutside getting the newspaper before 7:30, and it was already muggy hot for that time of morning. Today promises to be totally miserable weather-wise, so I'll be staying inside doing laundry and watching movies.

I'm looking forward to the movie THE RACKET this afternoon. Other than knowing the stars, I have NO idea what it's going to be about. I'm going into it with a totally open mind.

And no RENO 911! tonight. There's a comedy "roast" of William Shatner tonight in that time period.

Good. Gives me one less thing I have to watch or record.

Why DO people go over their allotted time so often when doing public speaking?  Is it just a failure to time what they're going to say?  Or is it about making themselves feel more important?  Or something else?  (I guess I'm asking if it's intentional or just pretty much inadvertent?)

DR FJL - All, or at least some, of the above.  Overall, I'd say it's lack of preparation and trying to cover too much.  I subscribe to the KISS philosophy - Keep It Simple, Sweetheart.

Good day one and all!!

AFter a hellacious week of work of returning students, errant technology, and software snafus, I took Friday night and yesterday to be computer free days to regroup. IT was wonderful. It was a beautiful day yesterday and I drove to Fergus Falls and climbed InspirationPeak and pondered many thoughts. IT was gorgeous and you could see for miles.

This next week is not looking much better but I will survive!

I'm sure most of them think they have the audience enthralled and are worthy of the extra time.....that is rarer than they might imagine....when those in the audience have budgeted their time carefully.  8)

Especially amusing notes today, BK. Reminds me of a tour I once took in Mexico, where the very animated tour guide keep saying, "Coochy coochy." It was quite amusing.
