Monday morning greetings!  Today should be my day off, but I've been invited to talk to another department during their quarterly meeting, so I'll have Thursday off instead.

Happy pre-birthday to DR Elmore - hope you get some mail from me tomorrow!

B'day Best to the incomparable elmore!  I dance the Wah-watusi and partake of a ham chunk in his honour.

TOD: Probably something by Presley.  I love Presley songs and Doo-wop.  Still do! I remember the first time I heard Lonely Teardrops by Jackie Wilson.  It was riveting.  Loved Orbison and Gene Pitney and Gene Mc Daniel too -- A Hundred Pounds of Clay.

Good morning to Esteemed, rested, shaken (not stirred), and rolled (kaiser or onion) BK --

Glad everything is moving along forward on "The Brain," and I look forward to hearing how the songs turned out.

Good morning!

Another beautiful day, and it's going to be our hottest for awhile, maybe even for the rest of the year - 87 is our forecasted high.

Would "The Great Pretender" classify as a R&R song? If not, then "Hound Dog," "Don't Be Cruel," and "Rock Around the Clock" would be the first ones.

I will probably take a break from Dick Cavett interviews this afternoon and put in LUST IN THE DUST. Haven't seen it since I saw it at the teater decades ago.

Tonight begins the new TV season. I'm looking forward to seeing THE CLASS (with the adorable Jesse Tyler Ferguson among other fresh faces) and STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP.

Of course, I'll be rejoining standbys from last season HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, too.

I'll have to record most of these since I'll be auditioning this evening.

Break a leg tonight!  It's for AMADEUS, if my muddled mind recalls correctly?

I used to be so organized; that Virgo mentality is starting to slip.  I just found the CD of "Brain" songs that our host with the most, BK, sent me ages ago, and now it's loaded into my iTunes.  I've got to read Act Two tonight, finish notes and make by BIG CHART.  Used to seem so simple.

Happy pre-birthday DR Elmore - you must be in a wonderful mood, I've never seen anyone start a sentence like this before.

The earliest rock & roll song I remember is Rock Around the Clock, but my favorites from that era are Unchained Melody (still love it!), Stay, and Silhouettes (on the Shade).  BK and I both liked Sealed With A Kiss, which he named as our song, but I bet he said that to a lot of girls!

..."They" are filming an Adam Sandler movie on our street.  In fact, my roommate has gotten quite a few good pics of Adam Sandler in his fireman get-up.  -And, yes, they are even "burning" a building on the other corner.

Alas, they started setting up last night around 2:00AM... Just as I was getting to bed...  And from what I can gather, command central is right outside my window.  When I peaked through my blinds, I could see the playback monitors.  -Oh, and then there are the megaphones...

So much for getting to sleep and sleep in today... ;)

*I still love New York!!!

-And it really was great getting back yesterday morning, and then spending the rest of the afternoon walking around the city.  And I ran into soooo many friends too during my trekking.  Sort of makes me not want to go back to DC.  ;)

I just saw the commercial for Clay Aiken's new album...

Question:  I thought his "people" were trying to make him look less[/b] gay?

DR Jose, welcome back!  I think you should post the review you sent me this morning.

When Barbra Streisand was directing one of her pathetic I'm-Not-Ugly-I'm-Beautiful films - not LENTIL but THE MIRROR SOMETHING - sher filmed at night on West End Avenue around 84th Street, all night, every night, forever, and the tenants in the neighborhood wanted a building to fall on her and the lights.
