And of course, Rosemary CONTINUES the line:

No anagrams today.  Getting anagrams from a word like JOCUND?  Don't make me laugh!

Maria, have a lovely visit in Canada. The place where you are staying sounds wonderful and reasonably priced.

Congrats on the Condo to DR George as well!   I am thinking I may trade the house in for condo someday.  Trying to take care of the yard is just getting to be to much for me.

Thanks, Danise!  I am NOT a yard person at all, so I think that this is the best thing for me. ;)

Well, after reading your notes, all I can think of is Rosemary's line from "Picnic" (in response to "Well, well, well.":

"A well is a hole in the ground, Howard."

Of course it's still early yet.

MY CAT FELL IN THE WELL (WELL! WELL! WELL!)
As recorded by The Manhattan Transfer

I woke up this morning with a feeling of despair
I looked for my pussy but my pussy wasn't there
Well, well, well
My cat fell in the well
Oh puss puss puss poor kitty kitty kitty
My cat fell in the well

I got out a ladder and I climbed down to my pet
I saw in a jiffy that my puss was soakin' wet
Well, well, well
My cat fell in the well
Oh puss puss puss poor kitty kitty kitty
My cat fell in the well

The doggone hole by the pump
Once she pushed, and in she jumped
There never was a kitty half as pretty
as the pussy that fell in the well
There never was a pussy that could quite compare with her
Pretty as a picture with her long and silky fur -

Well, well, well, well my cat fell in the well, well
Oh oh oh pussy pussy pussy poor kitty kitty kitty
My cat fell in the well

If you have a pussy that you wouldn't trade or sell
Never let her wander or she might fall in a well
Well, well, well
My cat fell in the well
Oh puss puss puss poor kitty kitty kitty
My cat fell in the well
Fell in the - well!

I'm up, I'm up.  My publisher is trying to figure out why amazon has added a "sourcing fee" to the latest book - it makes the hardcover cost $44.10!  Neither of us have ever seen such a thing and it certainly wasn't there when the book first went up.  I'd called amazon yesterday, and they told me it could have only come from the publisher.  The publisher tells me they've never heard of such a thing and that it absolutely didn't come from them.  The fun never stops at amazon - the publisher is supposedly calling them to discuss.

Where I work, we order most of our books and DVDs from Baker & Taylor.  They list the title (both paper & hardback) as an import and show the distributor as "Gardners Books," which is a distribution company from England!  And B&T has the hardback price as $47.55!

But my question is how can there already be "used" books available in both paper and hardback, when it hasn't even officially been published yet??

I'm back from the eye doctor. I had drops put into my eyes and now my pupils are the size of saucers. But, since the eye doctor was downtown near J&R Records I was able to pick up the CD of Grey Gardens for a mere $14 as opposed to $19 everywhere else.

Oh, yes. Things look OK with the eyes. He said the hematoma was (to quote Cole Porter) just one of those things. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my eyes. That's good news.

Transit for PogueCity

AUTOBLOG
Quote
Designer Robert Hoffmann drew up this Nissan concept for an auto magazine. The futuristic conveyance is not intended for production, but it's an interesting exercise just the same.

The oversized rear wheels are slanted inward, and move backward for highway cruising, optimizing space when retracted for city driving and enhancing stability in conjunction with a deployable rear wing at higher speeds.

The "car of tomorrow" would theoretically employ a hybrid or electric power plant if it were actually built. Kinda looks like a cross between an alien and an iPod.

Wednesday greetings!  After our plans with DR Elmore changed for today, DH Richard and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and do something we've always wanted to do here - the 3-hour Circle Line cruise around Manhattan.  We sailed at noon and returned at 3pm.  It was a little hazy, but otherwise the conditions were perfect.  We are now relaxing in our hotel before going to Joe Allen for dinner and then to see Cynthia Nixon in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

Oh and DR MattH, I saw VERONICA MARS (no spoilers). Very good. ANd the first scene had me cracking up. I just love Veronica.

I agree completely. I love her; love her cool and her take-no-prisoners attitude. Do you think Wallace's new roommate will end up falling for Veronica. He seemed interested last night. Or is he the campus rapist.

Yes, the PROJECT RUNWAY reunion show. I don't care about it so much, so I won't be watching it "live." I'll record it and watch it tomorrow. I don't find confrontations and sniping very entertaining, and these folks are experts at that.

Greetings from Omaha....yes I'm still in Omaha, don't know where jhvw is, last I heard after a one hour delay he had been sitting on the tarmac in Kansas City for 45 minutes. There are all sorts of problems in Chicago.  I heard someone tallking about problems with our flight, so I got in line immediately and was able to transfer to Midwest airlines going through Milwaukee.  Upside - hot chocolate chip cookies.

I'll get to LaGuardia about 4:30 if everything goes well.  If not who knows.  I don't know when jhvw will get there.
LOL What an advenure.   I hope Jon is doing ok and not stressing too much.    SO....we'll get there when we get there...

DR Cillaliz called me about the same time she posted this and then, again about 1:45pm EDT.  By then she was in Milwaukee and DR jhvw was in Chicago.  She called the second time to tell me not to expect them in time for dinner tonight.  I just hope they make it in time for their show!

I did watch VERONICA MARS first. I think I'm going to like the show even more this season. She's in college, and the vibe there is different than in high school, at least, it was for me. And the new students should make for a fun new set of characters.

Next came a thoroughly entertaining BOSTON LEGAL. Very funny last night; I laughed out loud several times watching it this afternoon. And now James Spader's infatuation with Candace Bergen should make for some entertaining rivalry with Denny at the firm.
