Next, I put in BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and rewatched it. So hauntingly beautiful and sad. I loved it (again).

I watched Grey Gardens. It's hard to imagine this as a musical, even though they do seem to sing throughout the film.

The Maysles are amazing camermen.

Looks like the jacket turnout was that about three quarters of the men wore jackets at the River Cafe afternoon party.  I could have gotten away without one, but my friend expressed happiness that I wore one.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES did at least show some sense bringing Ian back into Susan's life. Nora is as despicable as ever and such a viper. I hope it's she who is shot in the hostage episode next week. No surprise about Carlos' little trick. We all saw that coming from a mile away. The mystery with Monique is pretty interesting.

Despite my having reached my 3535th post, I will refrain from posting the "In the Year 3535" lyric section of the song "In the Year 2525."

Liked BROTHERS & SISTERS, too, with all of the family members facing such crises in their lives. Why is it that the only brother or sister that I don't like is the star of the show - Calista Flockhart?

REUNION PART TWO

I recently receive notice that my AmericaWest (now US Air) airline frequent flier miles would expire if I had no account activity before the end of the year. I have accumulated 59,576 miles, just a short of what I need for two round trip tickets (US Mexico, Caribbean, Central America. They do have a special dining awards program that lets me get 3 miles for every buck spent at a participating restaurant. Now $150 on a few dine outs to get the miles is well worth it

After leaving the Barnes we hitched a ride back to Philly with a retired Neurosurgeon (remember my class was 9 about 92% good Jewish boys) and decided to do a walk-about and check on some candidate restaurants. (We visited The Bleu Martini which showed promise, and Barney's Place which is a neat Irish Pub). On the walk we came across Central Alumni Larry Fine's haunts:

Philly use to be known as a very reserved, conservative blue-laws kind of place. Ladies had to enter taverns through separate entrances.

I guess times have changed

Just watched another spooky Halloween movie...SEVEN DOORS TO DEATH (1944) starring Chick Chandler, June Clyde, and my recent interviewee Rebel Randall. It was scary.

We thank you for that.

If only their "Mr Turnkey" had been a hit!!

Zager and Evans were from Lincoln, Nebraska; Johnny Carson had already claimed the state's "15 minutes of fame".

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm all moved back in with my parents. So begins the frantic scramble for money to move to KC, ASAP! It's been a weird week, but I'm looking to get back to my normal routine and posting on the board. So, hello to everyone.

And now, I'm heading for bed. I didn't sleep well last night, so I hope tonight will reverse that situation.

Good night!

Now there's a problem!

Some of the songs date back to the early 1900's. most recent would be a song from Lucy Simon's "Secret Garden".
I know there's "Garden of Joy"  from "Star".

I'll try and remember to check it all out!
