Rodzinski the opening verse of "Hello Young Lovers" is something like:

   "When I think of Tom
I think of a night when the earth smelled of summer
And the sky was streaked with white
The soft mists of England came rolling down the hill
      I remember this
      And I always will"

Congrats on that, Edisaurus. Also, I'm not used to being online at the same time as you. How very odd. :)

A good verse for a parody too I think TCB.

Good evening to all you lovely and dashing and svelte hainsies and kimlets.  I'm just popping in to say...

"Hello, I must be going!"

It's been a  long day of errands and catch-up things, so I think I'll watch Studio 60, and then drift off.

G'night dear Esteemed BK.....

goodnight Lucy.....

But don't forget to submit it to a film festival in Oregon!!!

Any recommendations?

We submitted to a festival in Italy that seemed like a perfect fit: Festival dei Popoli in Florence, which focuses on social issue docs. And ours has an Italian theme. But we were turned down. Go figure! But we hope we'll have a theatrical screening in Oregon. As soon as we have an idea of where our distributor will be scheduling us, I'll post the info. I know we're the opening night film for the Human Rights Watch film festival in Boston on Jan. 17 at the Museum of Fine Art, and after the festival it will run for a week and then open in NY the following month. After that, we have no idea, but I hope it will play in Atlanta, too!

And I suppose that the fact that CARS  was the most publicized new DVD release of last week, had nothing to do with it?

Well, I can't answer about anyone else, but I had dozens of DVDs to pick from to watch yesterday, and I happened to choose the same one chosen by two other friends. To me, that was ironic. I have had it since Thursday, so it could have been watched at any time during those days. That was the point I was making.

And I haven't purchased it at all...it doesn't even reigster on my "want" list.

Had lots of interesting video adventures tonight. I began with another CSI: NY epsode. One of the cases involved a rapist that one of the team was fired for trying to frame. They still didn't catch him in this episode.

Because I was so dissatisfied with the picture quality of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III the other night, I put the DVD into a different player tonight and watched the first 35 minutes again. Either I'm getting used to its look, or it did look quite a bit better to me tonight. The player may have had something to do with it though I'd think a Sony and a Panasonic would show little difference if both were sending the data through the HDMI connection. At any rate, the picture was more pleasing to me the second time around. Since I only recorded 1 1/2 hours of shows tonight to watch tomorrow, I should be able to finish the movie again tomorrow in addition to tonight's shows I'll be watching.

I, too, enjoyed both "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers and Sisters" last night.

SPOILER

"Desperate Housewives" seemed a transitional episode, of sorts.  It was interesting to see Dixie Carter introduced as Orson's mother...and one who may out-evil Orson...and to learn about the new neighbor's dirty secret.  Poor Lynette...she owes him her life, but....

I am looking forward to Mike getting his memory back...and I'm hoping when he does that Edie is totally embarrassed/humiliated/dealt with.

On "Brothers and Sisters", I couldn't help sticking my finger through what I thought was a gaping hole in the story line.  Justin being re-called to the Army should not have been a major deal with all that high drama, etc., etc.  The Army would not want him back if it knew he had a drug problem.  Plain and simple.  They don't tolerate drug/alcohol abuse.

I'm guessing that his drug use hasn't been a legal issue, and he didn't want it to become one.  But it surely would have been his out.  No need to overdose and induce a coma, for pity's sake.

THE CLASS gave Jesse Tyler Ferguson the spotlight, and he ran with it with a funny and charming performance, something pretty amazing since his storyline involves rather nasty adultery. You could hear the very audible gasp in the audience when all was revealed, and I'm sure they felt as uncomfortable about it as I have felt for several weeks with two adultery stories running simultaneously on this sitcom.

The Oprah birthday party story went nowhere, but it was nice to hear Sam Harris sing even if it was for just a few seconds.

Oh, I wanted to ask George, how is it you never viewed UHF channels back in the day? Were there no local channels above 15 in Washington? I mean where were the late night horror hosts and oddball religious shows? Although I know the west coast had cable TV long before a lot of places, so maybe it was never an issue for that reason.

I watched those two sitcoms while killing time before HEROES. THE CLASS, I find just terrible. Some really bad acting on there, and where is it all headed? HOW I MET at least has some likable actors, and that insane game that Doogie Hauser played in Atlantic City was inspired stuff.

HEROES had a kind of transitional episode too as we saw only a few regulars this week. We were furnished with some startling new information, however. Oh, so fascinating!

I enjoyed the wrap-up of the John  Goodman story on STUDIO 60. Steven Weber had his moment to shine tonight in a couple of scenes, and I greatly appreciated him.
