I haven't noticed much lately about the breakfast plans for Sat. morning.  Is that still on?  If not, that's OK since we'll meet everyone at the show Sat. night, but I won't have internet access after Friday morning as far as I know.

People can leave messages for me at 212-332-0641 if there are any updates.  I'll check that voicemail fairly regularly.  Thanks!

DR Ben, I'm still looking for South Dakota -the quarter that is, I can almost see  the state from my office window- it's just on the other side of the ridge.  I'll see if I can get one at the bank this afternoon

Oh, I'm looking for health vibes for jhvw, he's got bronchitis and is totally under the weather.  On a funny note, his mother finally found out he's still smoking cigarettes. Lol, knowing her, that will be enough to get him to quit.

TOD:
Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?
They only really great movie the ever did together. Maybe Taming of the Shrew, but I haven't seen it.

Consider the other ones
Hammerstein Is Out
Boom
Under Milkwood
Sandpiper
Doctor Faustas
Divorce Him/Divorce Her (Or whatever it was called. A 2part movie from two sides)

Left any out? (other than Cleopatra)

Yes.
The Comedians

You left out another: THE V.I.P.s

and it's a wonderful soap opera with terrific performances from the cast (and which won Margaret Rutherford an Oscar).

Good morning!

Another beautiful late fall day, and it's not going to be super cold today: highs in the 50s, so pleasant for December.

I don't have a lot recorded to watch, so I should get through more CSI: MIAMIs and BONES episodes today.

There are new episodes tonight of lots of my favorites: CSI, SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL, and the NBC comedies.

My favorite Taylor/alone movies are CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER, A PLACE IN THE SUN, and GIANT.

Burton's finest hour without Taylor is THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD, but I also like ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS, BECKET, THE ROBE, MY COUSIN RACHEL, and the parts of EQUUS that I've seen. Can you believe that I've never seen that film all the way through?

I think WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF is a masterpiece, and that both of them give the greatest performances of their careers in it.

In Burton's case, I think it's the greatest performance that never won the Oscar.

As I said earlier, THE V.I.Ps is a super soap opera, and I have to admit on rewatching CLEOPATRA a few months ago, I was more impressed by Burton this time around than I was when I first saw the film or in subsequent viewings. I still think it's one of Taylor's lesser achievements.

THE TAMING OF THE SHREW is excellent, and Taylor is much better than I ever expected her to be. Burton is marvelous, of course.

Danise-Thanks, & don’t worry.  I have been doing the same thing lately.  Glad you are feeling better.

Thank you George, JRand & Michael S.

And what about Elizabeth in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC? Despite being dubbed part of the time, I think she was right for the role. The faults of the film aren't really due to her though others may disagree.

Thanks Matt H.

FJL-Thank you & enjoy sunny California.  I wish I weren’t leaving for cold Philadelphia.  And DC will be even colder.  I left my warm winter coat in Michigan when we moved & never replaced it.  Yes, it gets cold here but I’m not out in it long unless I’m hiking, and then I’m bundled up in layers of ugly hiking clothes.

Elmore-Thank you.  I’m sorry Nurse Jane hasn’t been reading the posts and following your news out in my home town.  I still haven’t had time or the energy for a walk since before Thanksgiving & I barely have time to celebrate my birthday.  Don’t really have time, did stop to enjoy the sunrise.

Now I’m off to play ball with a rapidly growing puppy who is over 50 pounds now.  He is getting into the gangly stage, loosing his soft puppy fur and his back legs are growing faster than is front ones.  He can’t sit up straight-it’s so cute.

HammerSMITH Is Out is the Burton-Taylor film with Peter Ustinov.

HammerSTEIN is out is that underground musical Richard Rodgers did that caused quite a rift between the two!

Burton and Taylor's DOCTOR FAUSTUS is actually not bad. Kinda cheaply produced, but I liked it when I saw it.
