Well, Plan C seems to be in place - pray for Rosemary's Baby.

Prayers for DR GINNY & her tech needs - that they have only known about since Jesus was a baby.  ;D

Thank you JRand.  It appears Sherlock still has a bit of growing to catch up to Miss Blue Moon.

I don't know the Franck,

There are three pieces of classical music that really choke me up:

Rachmanioff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
And the Franck

I need Larry Moore to explain the fascinating antiphonal orchestrations that make the orchestra sound like the world's largest pipe organ.

If any of you missed SNL this past Saturday, which featured guest host Jake Gyllenhall -- or if you missed any discussion about it -- here's a look at the phenomenal opening skit he did.

This morning I was using his nickname, Monster Dog, and his blue eye was looking rather wild. ;D

Most the time he is an amazingly good puppy and he plays very gently with smaller dogs.

He is ringing his bell, I had better let him out.

As soon as it warms up a little - today's orders are going via Fed Ex ground (it's the cheapest way), MUCH cheaper than UPS or post office).

Have you disvoered the Post Office's new Flat Rate Priority Mail?

A whole shoe-box full of stuff, no weight limit, for $8.10

Quote
USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail (the eBay 'Standard Flate rate Shipping' is not necessarily Priority mail; always ask the seller exactly what kind of mail their 'Flate Rate' shipping entails.)

The US Postal Service Flat Rate Box comes in two sizes.

The largest (perfect-for-D&D-manuals-and-larger-boxed-sets, and heavy books; the photo shows the capacity; that's 11 pounds-worth of books!!) size is a robust 12x4x14,
costs a flat $8.10 to anywhere in the US, including AK, HI, Guam, APOs in Korea, Germany, Iraq, etc.,
and has unlimited weight within the restrictions of package integrity!

The boxes are free and the post office will even deliver large orders to your house or business, at no charge.

They're super-easy to pack, label and mail, because of the box construction, flat $8.10 fee, and the fact that they're Priority Mail 3-5 days delivery and so take the Priority Mail labels.

There's really no better substitute, especially with the low shipping price.

der Brucer

The Order Free Boces on line works-they delivered me ten of the shoe boxes and ten of the shirt boxes - no charge!

der Brucer - I've been using Flat Rate boxes since the beginning of Kritzerland - they're wonderful.  However, you can only fit about thirty five CDs in the big long box, and you can't fit many more into the square box - the amazon order is for close to 100 CDs and they get confused if you split it into several boxes.  So, via Fed Ex ground it will cost about twenty bucks, so even if I was able to split the amazon order into three flat rate boxes it's still cheaper via Fed Ex ground.  UPS for the same shipment of 100 discs would be over $100 for GROUND!!!

I'm thinking, do I have a score for the Franck?  If I do, I'll have a look/listen and comment on what he's done.

DR Jeanne, if you know any recording of ON YOUR TOES, the number "Bach Beethoven and Brahms (The Three Bs)" begins with a mangled quote from the Franck Symphony.

I discovered something interesting about Flat Rate cartons from the USPS:  it may be a flat rate of $8.10, but if you're sending a priority package that might only cost you $6.10 in a flat rate carton, you're giving the Post Office $2.00 to their advantage.  A customer and I learned this over the holiday at one of the Post Office's automated service centers.

DR Miss Karen, have fun!
My DR Elmo - As much fun as a meeting can be...but I did get the rest of the costumes dismantled and put away -- except for all the whites, which made the trip home with me for a good washing (happy, happy, joy, joy -- I like washing stuff about as much as cleaning the house...oh, to be BK and have an evil-eyed person to be my slave labor...)...

And then there was "The Ghost Whisperer" -- and what a strong, emotional and gutsy entry this show was in that series: the ghost of a soul that had a tortured recall of several prior lives.  And that soul found itself set for another incarnation.  Melinda rightly grasped that the soul was about to be reborn, but did not guess who the mother was.  The resolution, and the sacrifice, I found to be very moving.  There's more to this storyline of "not being ready to have a child" and it may end badly for one of our characters.

AARRGGHH!!  I THOUGHT that I had set my DVR to record this...but I didn't!  I actually didn't record the last two episodes. :P

Dopey me. ;)

I came back and found a smilie next to my Rosemary Clooney selection.  How did it get there?  I did not put it there.  Could I have done it inadvertantly?  I have disabled the smilies features.  I do not like smilies.  I would like to think that what I write is clear enough without the addition of little icons that spell it out for the unsubtle.

DR RLP - Miss Blue is practicing for the Indiana title in the Miss USA pageant.  She figured if Donald Trump is running it, she may have a chance.

I haven't told her yet that she might be slightly too old, but I don't think her dancing is that great either.  She always counts her beats by nodding her head....like Juliet Prowse.

Is it just random ringing or can Monster Dog play a tune with his bell?  I see a trip to David Letterman for a pet trick segment if he is indeed gifted....
