Zoiks! No more Beauty and the Beast?

Well.. I'm just glad the official announcement came out as soon as it did.  I had actually heard the news while I was at the casting agency this morning, and I was more or less sworn to secrecy.

Whew!

U2 used "strewn" in Sunday Bloody Sunday
Mariah Carey used "strewn" in "4th of July"

Don't mess with the master!

He even knows who the best Monkee was. I actually think they were all talented, but Nesmith was a guy who could have had an excellent songwriting career even if the Monkees never happened.

It will seem strange for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST not to be at the Lunt after such a long time.

I saw it at the Palace before it moved.

Now, I'm off to bed. I'm enjoying HARRY POTTER V quite a bit, but it's always a relief to get him back to Hogworts.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten one yet.  They came out a few months ago.  Hmm.. ???

Yeah, last year they just showed up at our desks one day. But it doesn't look like it's gonna happen this year. I'm gonna have to call in some favors.

And speaking of TV highlights... Did anyone catch today's "Ellen" (Degeneres) show?

T.R. Knight was on, and they discussed the re-igniting of the war of words as it were with his co-star.  It did look like T.R. Knight was uncomfortable, but Ellen really handled the situation very honorably.

MBarnum, I almost forgot you were asking me about Boston Blackie. I may have been the Boston Blackie fan you were wondering about. I used to watch episodes of the TV show on the Nostalgia Network when that was a cable channel.

When were/are the Wheeler and Woolsey films you mentioned. MattH, did you ever get a recording of RIO RITA?

The Wheeler and Woolsey movies were on earlier this month, I think.

I must have confused the Boston Blackie TV series with the movies....I have seen neither version...but there is one Boston Blackie TV episode I MUST find...the episode is "the Big H Murder" and features a young June Kenney!!

THE CUCKOOS is quite good, and similarly has some technicolor bits thrown in there.

The Cuckoos is one I sure wish TCM would show! I have a very, very bad VHS copy of it.

On ebay, someone is selling all Boston Blackie movies plus five episodes of the TV show, and an Ellery Queen movie to boot. All in one package. That's just at one glance, so I bet you can find that episode you want.

I saw just a little clip of it. It all is making the other guy look pretty bad to his castmates and the world at large. Not merely insensitive, but also a liar.

Well, no luck on Ebay...but I had forgotten that Lois Collier was on that show. She was so cute in all of her Universal films in the 1940s.

And since I just saw the commercial for it again...

Why, oh why, did they remake "The Hitcher"?!?!?!?

*Although, the young guy in the new version looks better than C. Thomas Howell - at least to me.  ;)

The first show I remember seeing on TV as a tad of a lad of a sprig of a twig of a young boy was Boston Blackie.  I haven't seen the show since and I can tell you exactly how it opened - with a shadow of Blackie on a wall, checking his gun.

One of the first TV shows that I remember seeing is BEWITCHED.

I thought that Marion Lorne was my grandma Cooper.

So...

1) Just how much did Tommy Tune bend his knees to get in the picture?

2) And is it my imagination, or is Tommy Tune starting to look like Carol Channing?

OH!

From Left to Right: Alex Rybeck, Tommy Tune, Jason Graae, Mary Testa, Liz Callaway.

-Alas, in the same article, there's a pic of DR elmore's buddy, Ron Raines, with Mr. Graae.  -Alas, I don't think it's the most flattering pic of either gentleman.

Hmm the first primetime show I remember was Little House on the Prairie. My parents did not permit me and my sister to watch much television growing up. Also I preferred reading.
