The NFC Championship game (or was it the AFC; I can never keep them straight) last night by far had the highest ratings of the night while all other shows like DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and EXTREME MAKEOVER took hits in the ratings.

GREASE was not only NBC's highest rated show of the evening, it didn't lose any audience numbers from the previous week.

Spin it, baby, spin it - the numbers have dropped every week, and while it may be NBCs highest rated show, perhaps it also might be interesting to know that NBC is in third place or worse for the evening.

I don't honestly care one way or another, but it most certainly did lose ratings points from the previous week - unless your source is different than the source I've seen quoted on another board.  To wit: According to Zap2it..."Grease: You're the One That I Want" was third for NBC at 5.2/7"...I think last week it was a 6/7.

I have an embroidered pillow my mother gave me after I told her I was going to marry my DH. It says "Eat, Drink and Remarry!"

Which advice you took. (Assuming that it was DH#!).

I do hope MattH knows it's nothing personal - different strokes for different folks and we all get to rant and/or rave, and that's what makes America great :-)

Tomovoz - The hot/cold sensitivity seems to have gone away.

My sensitivity about my hot/cold sensitivity has not gone away, though.
Hope you are not sensitive to my possibly insensitive posts.
Of course "posts" is a dental reference too.

I'm not spinning it; I'm not a shill for the network. I'm stating the facts as I read them in VARIETY and at TV GUIDE on-line. ARgue with them if you want to argue.

Shall I watch Move Over, Darling?  What an interesting history it has: Started life as a poem (serious), was filmed as a silent film (serious), then it became a comedy all of a sudden, My Favorite Wife.  Then it became a Marilyn Monroe/Dean Martin vehicle - the troubled Something's Gotta Give, directed by George Cukor.  After the film was shelved and Miss Monroe's death, it was resurrected as Move Over, Darling, using mostly the same sets as Something's Gotta Give.

I really like MOVE OVER DARLING. This is the Doris Day set with CAPRICE and DO NOT DISTURB. Anything else?

Warners is also releasing a Doris Day set soon with her early Warners musicals like ROMANCE ON THE HIGH SEAS and her Booth Tarkington films.

I'm not arguing, really.  Just pointing out the facts as I see them - the show is a ratings loser, at least so far.  It doesn't matter, in the scheme of things.  It's not going anywhere, and the production will happen and most likely its producer will keep it running no matter what because this guy's ego knows no bounds and he's got backing from NBC, as well.  However, I guarantee you, at the end of the day, no matter how this producer lies, the revival (which comes way too soon after the last revival) will lose every cent of its not inconsiderable investment.

I don't know if it's an actual set - I got three separate DVDs - coming out together in a week or two, but I don't know if they've been boxed or not.  Do Not Disturb is the third film.  Interestingly, Caprice is the only one I've seen - I remember not liking it much, but it IS directed by the always-interesting Frank Tashlin, so I'm looking forward to it.  And, of course, Move Over, Darling has such expert farceurs as James Garner and Thelma Ritter.

But it's not a ratings loser. NBC finished fourth last season on SUnday nights. The fact that GREASE is finishing third in the timeslot still represents a gain for the network and at considerably lower cost than the last season of THE WEST WING did in the slot last year.

CAPRICE is one of the worst on her resume, possibly discounting THE BALLAD OF JOSIE.

Naturally, CAPRICE is one of my real guilty pleasures. I rather like it.

But probably a money maker for the network.

I guess it works for both DH's. I wish I had taken that advice earlier with H #1 (I can't award him a "D" unless it was the kind in the a-f rating system...)

I wrote to each of the posters but have heard nothing. I sent the 6 links to our distributor and will let them handle it. I'll check back in a few days to see if they were successful.

In the good news department, Newsweek is supposed to have a quick item on S&V this week. I'm leaving work and will try to find a copy if it's out, before going to kick some ass at the theatre preservation meeting. This is the most poorly marketed preservation effort I have ever seen. OK...I'm not going to talk about this right now...it makes me too crazy.
