I assume, Dear Reader TCB, that your forays into musical theatre constitute moonlighting for you, as your "regular job" must be in stand-up comedy.  Thank you for the frequent and consistent laughs!

DR Jane - Thank you for the offer of emailing the pix. But I think I might be able to see them as is tomorrow or another time. My computer gets moody sometimes and refuses to do things one day which it easily does the next. Go figure.

Case in point... After I posted the previous note, I went back and there they were! Very sweet. I bet Echo and my Abie would have a ball.

Oh, you silly west-siders!  A light dusting of snow and your entire side of the state starts putting chains on your cars.  Over here we wait for 8 inches before we start to think about the studded tires. :D

Over here we wait for 8 inches, too... and wait... and wait...

I have to be a work tomorrow so I doubt I'll be staying up till midnight.  If I make it to ten, I'll be doing good.  I'd rather get up and see the Rose parade anyway.

I have to go back on Friday.  Sigh.

I hope all have a very  Happy and Safe New Year.

Danise

I am a little confused.  Did Danise's post earlier this evening give the impression that tonight was New Year's Eve for her?  I realize that Florida is in a different time zone than Washington State, but I didn't think it was that far east.

Swishy would like to make the disclaimer that she loathes those stupid braces, and that she looks a lot nicer than that now that they have been removed. She now has pearly whites. Swishy OK-ed that picture because it's a cute one of the two of us. Swishy actually hates every picture she's in, because she feels that she isn't very photogenic.

This is going to sound really weird, but oh well. You know how when you look in the mirror, it's opposite from what everyone else sees? I think I look SO MUCH BETTER the way *I* see me. That's why I hate pictures. I wish I could just be flipped or something.

Told you that would sound weird.

Good evening.

What a wonderfully long day!

I got out of bed in time to make it to rehearsal on time.  I only slept about 30 minutes past my alarm clock, but it did have me a little worried, since I'd have the morning rush hour to deal with.  Well, there seemed to be no morning rush hour this morning - at least when I left the house.  I decided to park my car at Arena and take the Metro over to the Folger.  Well, I left my house at 8:58.. and I hit the Arena parking lot at 9:14!!! I could not believe it?!?!?  Not only did I not have to deal with any traffic, but I also hit all the green lights on the way in!  Yippee!  Never again!  And the Folger is only three stops from Arena, so I was able to take a nice leisurely walk from the Metro station to the theatre.  -It seems most of the government workers took the whole week off.  Your tax dollars at work!

Rehearsal went very well.  More music review and some re-writing and tweaking.  The talent assembled for this production simply humbles me - so smart, so imaginative.  And the young woman (girl) who sings a majority of the songs - WOW!  We even moved into the theatre today for the afternoon session.  What a great space - a reconstruction of a theatre during Shakespeare's time.  Even the lobby of the theatre is quite spectacular.

*And I only have to be at rehearsal from 2:30-4:00 tomorrow!  YEAH! I can sleep in!  Whoopee!

And then came Camelot - Everyone was back in tonight.  And we had a good show.  Now if the "cougher" in the orchestra pit can just get her coughs not to happen during the ballads and/or right after we finish a piece... when the mics are still on!  Ah, well.. it's that time of year...

DR SwishySarah - Welcome back!  And nice pic!

DRs who posted pet pics ;) - CUTE!

DR Jason - Hmm... You're not taking pictures of your workplace are you?  You're not posting from your office are you?  :-X

DR TCB - I've heard that you usually do have to wait and wait with 8 inches.  :o

(Family board, schmamily board - no one reads the late night posts anyway!)

Oh, and I happen to like Fresca!  I usually keep a case of it alongside my Caffeine Free Diet Coke.

DR BK - Eat well, and healthily.  And may the pounds melt off like all those pats of butter that you can't have on your diet.  -I'm not sure I know what I just typed, but I get the gist... Do you?

I'm doing pretty good with mine right now.  Well, day three is about to end - and that's a day longer than my past two attempts.  As long as I can make it through tomorrow night without having any sugar, I should be fine.  And, I am feeling better, so...  But, remember, come January 15, I'm having the Hot Fudge Cake at Joe Allen - and, yes, I can eat it all by myself!

Oh, how we shall laugh and laugh.  I'm sooooo tired, I haven't slept a wink.  I'm soooooo tired, my mind is on the blink.  However, I must stay awake to post tomorrow's notes and then I shall immediately hit the road to dreamland.  I hope to get out of work tomorrow between four and five.

Oh, as for today's topic... Hmmm...

In no particular order... and these are mainly the discs that I've bought AND opened AND listened to this year.  The "backlog" is quite astounding and sort of depressing... ah, well... Here goes...

1. Michael Buble, "Michael Buble" - DR Jason, Get this CD!  Fun arrangements - and fun selection of songs!  I didn't get his Christmas CD, maybe I'll find it on sale this weekend.
2. Thicke, "A Beautiful World" - What a funky album! I bought it after catching a video being shown in one of the Universal parks during my audition tour.  "When I Get You Alone" uses the disco classic "A Fifth of Beethoven" as it's "base".  So much fun.  And there are some really nice ballads too.
3. Donny Osmond, "Somewhere in Time" - What a fun album! A tribute to the "pop music" of 70s and 80s radio.
4. Christopher O'Riley, "True Love Waits: Christopher O'Riley Plays Radiohead" - Very neat album.  I first heard some live recordings of these pieces on NPR's "Performance Today".  What a great pianist, and all-around musician.  -And he's very easy on the eyes too. ;-)
5.
6. Murray Perahia, "Chopin: Etudes" - WOW!  -And he recorded these after recuperating from a hand accident - a knife slip, if I remember correctly.  Truly effortless virtuosity - and still musical!
7. Oscar Peterson Trio, "West Side Story" - Reissue.  I've mentioned this album before - simply awes me!
8. Diana Krall, "Live in Paris"
9. Chanticleer, "Portrait - 25th Anniversary Collection" - I just wish the Beibl "Ave Maria" was on this CD.
10.  Jeepers Creepers - Mais, bien sur!

I'm outta here...  I'll check in before I leave for rehearsal, but after that, I probably won't be back on until 2004!  -Show and party tomorrow night at the theatre.

Goodnight.

Did anyone else see the Oprah episode on her Christmas trip to South Africa? I watched it yesterday, and I was sobbing like a baby. It was the most touching thing I've ever seen...

WHY do I post about stuff like this?

I am officially addicted to Conan O'Brien. He's hilarious.

Lack of sleep makes me random.

Merci pour les bienvenues! I'm sure that was completely incorrect, but oh well.

OMGGN!  ("Oh My Good Good-Ness" in MY lingo) How in the WORLD could I forget "Jeepers Creepers:  Great Songs from Horror Movies"???  The CDs that I listed this morning were ones that I had right in front of me.  My Jeepers Creepers CD is safely put away on my shelf with all my other BK produced CDs and unfortunately, I didn't take the time to search diligently for every CD that I bought or received this year.  Anyway, it really is a great CD and I'm proud to have it. ;D

And no, I'm not just trying to
