DR JRand, I'm not rushing you at all...

...I did go through the trouble of hand painting that label, though...

LOL....I am preparing myself for it....

OMG, all these new avatars!

Maybe I'll dig up a photo from the year Der Brucer took that seafarer picture, but still - I kind of enjoy having Toby and Dylan as my avatar.

An ad on CNN just talked about "leveraging  a powerful tool."  Given the scandal talk, I assumed it was a reference to an upcoming report on Austin.

(Kidding again, if Austin's handlers are reading this.  I assume they read HHW religiously.)

TOD: Singing in the Rain. Lots of action in that one too -- running up the walls and such.

Good mornin', all-

LOVE the handsome mugs of DRs JRand56, der Brucer, and Dan (the Man).  Way to go, guys!

DR FJL, you are too much with ANCIENT GREASE.   ;D

DR Jane, thanks for your posts yesterday...thinking of you, DH Keith, and of course DD Sherlock.

DR George - catnip bubbles - even if it doesn't work, I'm intrigued...

HHWers certainly are an omnifarious bunch.

So I attended a gala benefit last night, at which Stephen Schwartz was the honorary chairperson.

I didn't attempt to talk to him, as I couldn't think of a single intelligent thing to say.   :(

DR FJL -

Would it be better to watch the Starfighter movie first, before listening to the cast album of your show, or doesn't it matter?  I'm not familiar with the movie or its premise.

Is "gala" pronounced "gal-la" or "gay-la"

It was a fundraiser for Canticum Novum and the NY Virtuoso Singers...two choral groups conducted by Harold Rosenbaum.  Canticum is talented amateurs; the other group is all pro and focuses on contemporary American choral music - not always very accessible stuff!

I've usually heard "gay-la".  Though perhaps that's just me.  :)

singdaw - If you have the patience to read the synopsis in the CD booklet (the last four inside pages of the booklet), that's probably the easiest thing to do.  Thanks for getting the CD.  Much appreciated.

At the "gay-la", we were treated to peformances by The Western Wind, a well-know a cappella sextet.

It was mentioned that this week will see the East Coast premiere of a choral work by Schwartz [setting of a text by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow], and also that Stephen is currently working on an opera.

That is all.
