Ha ha!  I didn't even realize that!  I'm glad I've got you around here, DGM (Dear Goddess Mother)

Where have you been, DGTBS (Dear God To Be Son)?  Spoo has been used (and explained) often...

Well, yrros!  I've seen it used -- but I hadn't caught the explanation...but seeing as how I'm working my way through the Kritzer trilogy, I immediately get the overall meaning...

There were actual "life rafts", as opposed to inflatable "life boats" - but not on the Titanic. They were large rectangles of kapok with canvas mesh bottoms. (The kapok kept the raft afloat so you needn't worry about water getting inside.) People could get in side, and also cling to straps mounted to the kapok perimeter. The rafts had oars strapped to the side and an emergency pack of water, some food, and flares.

Muchas Gracias, Senor!  You didn't happen to find a photo, did you? (I know -- picky, picky, picky)

Southall!  I was worried when someone said UK that it might be that bad boy tallguy come to make trouble.

Mr. Southall wrote that lovely review of the Shire CD that I posted yesterday, and we welcome him with open arms and closed feet.

No writing this morning, but I will finish the chapter when I return at two, although, that said, I thought of something I may want to add - unless I save it for another chapter.

No trouble from tallguy here, I hope.

I'll post some of my favourite (some of you may know this word as "favorite") cow-based recipes in time.

Hi there.  I'm original from the Midlands (near Birmingham) but now reside in Bristol.

I look forward to participating here once I get the lie of the land.  It is probably an opportune moment to announce that I like cows

So far I don't know of any family in either area.

Cows are cute but do you like marzipan? :)

...scratch Brutus -- Wimpy it is -- they're desperate for food and water, so it'd be easy to work in his line "I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today"  line ... you may be on to something Dan the Man!

I only hope it hasn't been done before.  Those damn fringe festivals--they're using up all the good ideas!

VIBES X 3 FOR MICHAEL S!!!

When I replaced my cell phone I decided to keep my old one for the information stored in it.  If I were really clever I would update that phone book every time I make adjustments on my current cell phone.

And the word of the day is: HETEROCLITE!
Brett, the HETEROCLITE of the old west, acknowledged that he carried a gun, but he never liked to use it because every time he fired the thing the sound made his TEETH RECOIL.

A question for ASK BK DAY -

Have you ever fired a gun?

Boy did TAR pay off today. Another guy on the flight has been waiting around. Of course he didn't know I was pretending to be playing TAR and was bound and determined to get on the later leaving but earlier arriving flight and dang if I didn't do it.

I talked to the very wonderful Kim, at the Midwest counter for about the 4th time today, being extremely polite and complimenting how well they handle this each time. She apparently misread something and thought that I'd only have 10 miinutes to connect in Milwaukee so she said "I booked you on the Delta flight early this morning, but don't tell them you came from here, I'm not sure if they are still cool with the transfer. So hide all the Midwest documents and just show them your id" (She must watch TAR too)

I said "How about I check in at the kiosk?" She said "Try it and tell me if it works"

So, I went to the kiosk and checked in. The Delta guy was very nice as I checked my bag.  I am now on the 1:30 pm Delta flight that is a direct flight and will land 45 minutes sooner than my original flight would have.  AND just as Kim handed me my new itinerary and documents, she got a call saying that the plane was within range.  I could have made it.  So I'm trading cookies for no plane transfer and an arrival 45 minutes sooner.

Cool beans
