Super pictures, DR Vixmom. Thank you SO much for sharing them with us. Looks like everyone's in sheer heaven, and from the description of the food and the looks of the company, I can understand why.

I started my evening by finishing THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. They certainly rush through the last portions of all the plotlines, especially Hope Lange's.

Next, I watched a new Criterion DVD I received yesterday, a film I had never seen before called OVERLORD. Very unusual kind of World War II film that mixes live action actors juxtiposed with actual archieval footage from various war sources. There are lots of really haunting images, and there's a gorgeous theme for the picture by Paul Glass, but I don't think the film fully achieves its aims due to a too simple basic story and the uneasy mix of some gorgeous "new" photography mixed with the rougher, somewhat damaged war footage used in counterpoint.

There are lots of special features on the disc I'll watch tomorrow. I started rewatching the film with the commentary turned on, and the director and leading actor were offering their views on the film which were interesting.

Cillaliz, if this is April Fool's Day are you sure they were calling from the television station?

Thoroughly enjoyed FACE THE MUSIC, even if I was a little tired from how hard Skip worked today.  :) :)

Also had the great pleasure of meeting Russell Warner, who is as nice as I had heard, and I really enjoyed Russell's work on the show's orchestrations.

Larry, you were spoken of quite lovingly.  Were your ears burning (in a warm fuzzy way)  around 8:45 or so?

I don't recall burning ears, just a buzzing pain; I thought it was from talking to DR MBarnum on the telephone.  It has been scientifically proven that talking to him for five minutes lowers your IQ and sets your heart afire for a physique magazine AND a velvet painting.

Isn't Russell wonderful?

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES offered a clip show with scenes going all the way back to the first season. Entertaining for what it was but, of course, very familiar.

I like your new avatar, DR TCB. Looks very nice. Is it taken from an ANNE FRANK still or from some other photo?

With tomorrow's network TV schedule being very light for me, I'm sure I'll get to THE TUDORS tomorrow along with tonight's COLD CASE unless the CBS broadcast was delayed for some reason. I didn't set the DVR to record anything past 11 p.m.

I spent the afternoon watching Frank Langella's DRACULA - my all-time favorite version of the story.  Do you suppose Frank was wearing a toupee way back then?

Actually, I had two delightful phone calls from DR MBarnum this evening.  Of course, I had to make four phone calls to get the two respnses since he was neither home nor glued to his cell phone.  He claims he was out doing "manly" work.  I think it's a euphemism.  Maybe he couldn't find a phone at the old folks home?

DR Cillaliz, the weathergirl!  We want live footage, lady.  I wanna see this one.

DR MattH, you've got to drop those folk who tie you down when y'all come to New York and be where the real partay is!  I wish Dan(theMan), Singdaw, and others would hightail it in as well.  Ah haz spoke!

There are also rumors that DR Cason may be heading east to take up a space on my floor, since acting is appreciated much more in Manhattan than in Hollywood.  No dates have been set yet.

I sound like Mary (ugh) Hart!

Plans are still tentative for a trip this summer, but if we do come, I'll certainly make it known. Would love to meet the HHW/NYC chapter.

Just wrote two solid pages of details from the research, and it's really fun and interesting.  So, that's seven pages today - haven't read what I wrote earlier, and won't go back to it until I finish the one or two more detail pages.  Once those are done, then I'll polish or fix what I wrote earlier.

Sorry about the avatar montage today.  I put up the Anne Frank photo hoping that it was curmudgeon-y enough that derBrucer would want to buy it for his own.  But since he didn't make an offer, I switched back to HELLO DOLLY.
