RE: last night's TAR.

SPOILERS

*

I was happy with the team that got eliminated. I did not care for them.  But i was annoyed by a few things.

1.them placing a fast forward right at the intersection (knowing the next teams were 4 hours back). It sort of made it pointless to me since only those first 2 teams could go for it.

2.them having the intersection when the other bus was 4 hours back. Maybe it bugged me more because it screwed over my favorite team, but i just thought it was stupid.

3.even though i don't care for the guidos i thought it was quite unfair that they did not really give them a chance to overcome their 30 minute penalty. Usually there is a reasonable chance that a team can stay in the game. But here they had to intersect and wait for a slower team. And then they simply had to walk a horse in armor. It really didn't give them any chance to stay.

4.I get that bunching must be done so that we don't have teams days in front of other teams. But it annoyed me that the blondes were 12++ hours ahead and had to wait a full 12 hours to board a bus. ANd couple that with the intersection thing had be sort of annoyed.

5. Charla and mirna are the funniest thing i have ever seen. When mirna was yelling at that taxi driver in her fake accent i was literally rolling on my couch. "Oh sir, what do you think i am a rich woman". I really disliked these two at the beginning of the season. ANd while i still think they are not very talented at this game, i must say i loved them last night. Not to win or anything. But just to watch. OMG they are funny.

I think it's high time the little bas...errr..ummm dears got some exposure to the dark side.  It might offset their explorations of it in their late teens (i.e. Goths).

Interesting thought, DR RON. I hadn't thought of the Goth angle. I often think that we make life seem too rosy for kids. Of course we don't want to expose them to all the horrors too young, but IMHO it's better to be realistic and prepare them.

It is always frustrating trying to educate people as to why an electronic organ [or "appliance", as purists call them] is just not the same.  It is better than nothing, if economics dictate, but once you've heard the real thing, it's hard to go back...

It's not "hearing" a pipe organ that's the thrill, it's "feeling" the music that's very special!

I am glad to know that DR MattH did not believe for a second that I could have been hauled off to a psych ward.

I was tempted to post "Not again!"

Hello, all!

How very rude of me to be so E&T after such a splendid Sunday. I am so grateful to everyone who welcomed us to NY, came to see our film, cooked for us, brought us yummy treats and especially DR singdaw, who sent the most beautiful flowers. I thought of them when we were at The Drowsy Chaperone, and regretted not having photographed them. They were SO beautiful...white hydranges and blood red roses in a blood red vase. (A subliminal communist reference?) They reminded me of the fairy tale of Snow White and Rose Red. I actually teared up when I saw them, I was so touched by singdaw's gesture.

OK...gotta work some and will be back with more thanks...

Really enjoyed THE TUDORS. Sumptuously produced and with an eye-blinking cast of really classy actors. How great to see Jeremy Northam and Sam Neill as Thomas More and Cardinal Woolsey! Great lusty drama that promises to get better and better. I just hope they slow down and don't feel compelled to fly too quickly through the various wives.

And be still my beating heart - Steven Waddington as the Duke of Buckingham! My god, does he ever look fabulous! Hadn't seen him in anything in years, and like Kevin McKidd and James Purefoy in ROME, he's really bulked up on muscle in the years since I've seen him.

I can also point to those "American Idol" auditions...thousands of kids with huge dreams predicated on their absolute convictions that they can sing.

And why do they think that?  I'm certain they've been told over and over there is NOTHING they cannot achieve if they want it enough.

That, IMO, is great up to a point.  But a silk purse was never fabricated from a sow's ear.

I'm absolutely appalled at the parents/friends who encourage their presumed "loved ones" to make fools of themselves.  Or, are the parents/friends clueless as well?

I next watched last night's COLD CASE. Murderer easy to spot, so not one of the better episodes for me.

Sigh.

I spent the remaining hour this afternoon going through the various special features on the OVERLORD DVD. The Imperial War Museum's footage supply is vast, and several featurettes in the special features focus on their millions of miles of war footage.

As long as you don't lead the grandlads into errancy and truancy.   ;)

It's a lost cause - they have my genes!
Alex thinks 'The Bitch Is Back" is high art and both lads fight over which show CD gets next play!

Is that like Frances Bavier as Aunt Bee?

I received my 3 CD's from Kritzerland today and they look divoon!!!

Me too - mailed in CA on Saturday delivered in Delaware on Monday.

What do you call an EMerchant who charges you $5.00 for postage, then spends $8.60 to mail the box?
