I hate to just peek in and run, but i have a couple of morning things to do.

(hmmmmm... it sounds like I was visiting the Atlanta-Hartsfield airport conveniences.  That would be unseemly, unless I was monitoring dear Jose.  I'll blame him!! )

But...would you have blown the whistle?

I shall look forward to hearing about the sartorial splendor of our newly shorn and kempt Grande Mensch  when he returns from his makeover a little later.

So handsome,.... so guapo,.......so bronzed and studly !

This reminds me of something I saw on an episode of "Designing Women"....the gals received a gift from someone they'd done a nice thing for....a box...and when you opened the box, you heard cheers and applause.

MattH - There was a cast album for Gone With The Wind in London - I had the gatefold LP - I don't think it's ever been issued on CD, though - don't know why.  I think it was on Polygram or some such label.

In other news, I'm back up at Westport, and I'm about to start another batch of note fixes - which really shouldn't take me that long.  :)  So...

DR MBARNUM has not yet told us what sort of laptop he purchased.

It is a Gateway. That is all I know. And it seems to work, and the screen is pretty.

I have to agree with Pogue. MacArthur Park raises the definition of stupid song to a whole new level, no matter who is singing it. I've heard other versions and they all strike me as laughable.

Let me guess - you don't like Don McLean's American Pie either!

And one can never forgive him for recording one of the worst songs in the world, MacArthur Park.  But then, of course, what can one do with some of the worst lyrics in the world...green icing melting and never not having recipes.  Geeze!  What a dumb-ass song!  I've actually heard Vic Damone sing this god-awful mess and even he can't do anything with it, so I guess I shouldn't blame Harris for it.

I agree with you about the song itself, but I always thought that Donna Summer's version of the song was good.  ;)
