Good Evening!

Let my weekend begin!

Alas, since I'm playing EPAs tomorrow from 10-6, my weekend is not really that much of a weekend. Ah, well. But work equals money, so, that ain't so bad. *And if All About Us does not extend, well, then I'll be unemployed... Well, actually I won't, so... Nevermind.

Hi DR Tom/Oz......believe it or not, I'm visiting tomorrow evening over in L.A. with my producer of my TV stuff down in Oz all those years ago. We have always stayed friends, but haven't seen each other in person for a couple of years now.

Ditching the crate might be a possibility, I will find out how much it cost & see if it is worth it. A crate will likely be needed at the new apartment. I think Yogi has always been crated in the car & we aren’t sure how good he will be if left loose.

TCB-right. I might call to confirm as I need to be sure the dimmensions are with the seats down. I'm also concerned I can sit comfortably in a van, so far I have never been in one I liked.

We had a good matinee today - good energy, good audience.

And since there were only four people in my van back to the city today, James - a.k.a. The Hunky Driver - we were all able to be dropped off at our door. Bonus!

And once I got home, I took one load of laundry to the laundromat up the street to get dried - one of my roomies washed some heavy blankets which would have taken hours to dry here (it only took 35 minutes (4 quarters) up the block) - and I started a load of my own laundry. Then after getting some other things in order, I went ahead and did something I haven't done in a while: I cooked dinner.

Swordfish steak, cubed, and sauteed in olive oil with garlic and oregano. Very yummy. And very healthy too. Then it was time to wash the dishes, start another load of laundry... yadda-yadda-yadda...

DR Jane - I'd suggest looking into renting a van from U-Haul or another moving company. Even with the one-way rental, you may actually get a better rate. Alas, you'd also have to figure in the cost of gas right now... $:-\$

So far, it's been a nice evening. Very leisurely, and I actually find washing the dishes kind of therapeutic.

Nope, not Tedd.... but still a very close friend of Tedd and Geoff's. My friend is Brian Finch, and he has even produced a couple of the huge MCG extravaganzas over the past few years. He also produced some of the stuff at the Oz Olympics a few years back. Very nice guy !!

The trick is door opening! (The crate will fit in most cars, just might not get thru the door - the advantage to a sliding side door mini-van!)

The $229 price included Pittsburg drop off and Dulles taxes/fees?

Have spent my day watching movies -- great big emotion-walloping movies:

"Meet Joe Black"
"Out of Africa"

Yesterday afternoon, I watched the wonderful "Bagdad Cafe" and the terrific 1964 musical "Unsinkable Molly Brown" and replayed several numbers numerous times.

Watched the "Heroes" marathon on NBC, as well.

I was intrigued that ABC aired "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" in High Def. Watched bits of it during "Heroes" commercials, but was totally stunned with the entire quidditch sequence.

EEK! I hope no-one finds out that Fred Bear is Tedd!
But then I guess those little kiddies are well into their forties now.

They were great days back then Mr MusicGuy. Kennedy's Crown was just auctioned for multi thousands. It was purchased at a thrift shop for a few dollars!

Passanger doors usually do not open a full 90o

However, the Caravan has sliders plus a rear hatch-back.

Most likely, depends when we can really leave. And I wish, there is that "minor" problem of not having a drivers license anymore.

Actually, U-Haul has some regular vehicles now, at least in vans. Additionally, I've found that Enterprise has some pretty decent rates on van rentals. *And there are tons of U-Haul rental locations in NoVa. I'm sure a hotel shuttle would be more than happy to drive you to one.

I don't recall mentioning that I have a van, however, if All About Us does not extend, I plan on being down in DC that week. I think. So... I'll keep you posted.

*And if you do need some help getting around "locally", I could always check with one of my brothers. They both live near Dulles. And they both have SUVs (since they both have children and dogs).

I've also found it helps to call the rental company to confirm the rate. Most online sites don't list the taxes since those are "local". And those taxes can add up.

Additionally, are you planning on renting the vehicle at IAD?
