Hmm... I just finished watching last night's "Idol", and now I'm watching NBC's "The Today Show's" coverage of last night's "Idol".

-Has a show ever garnered so much coverage from competing networks before?

DRs FJL, elmore3003, and JoseSPiano -

I am so sorry about last night [cue Barbara Cook]!  I realized about 8:30 PM that the timing wasn't going to work, and that's when I text messaged Jose.  I was truly looking forward to meeting you guys.  And now I feel especially bad when I read about your mad scramble to the train station.  Glad it worked out in the end, but sure wish I could have arranged it differently.  [And, in my defense, I did warn you all ahead of time that it might not work out!]

But I am not so far from NYC, so we will have to arrange an alternate gathering.

Jose:  Tonight at 5:00 is fine, if that gives you enough time.  I was thinking we could try Bombay, the Indian restaurant?  [I know where it is, now.]

I watched DWS last night. I was disappointed with the person who went home.

DR BrettySpaghetti -

I own the Menken Weird Romance, but haven't listened to it in many years.  Will have to dust that one off...

No worries.  -At least from me.  DR elmore, on the other hand... ;)

And 5:00 sounds good.  -Especially since it would probably be a good idea to get back to the theatre a little "early" to get parking.  Tonight's show is followed by a "talk back", and, apparently, it's a pretty full house.

*Plus, they officially announced yesterday that we will not be extending, so the last minute rush for tickets has started too.

DR Ron Pulliam, how long do you cook your collards?  The cookbooks I've seen vary widely on this crucial point, and a genuine Southern gentleman acquaintance of mine claims you can't cook them for less than 3 hours, so I'm just curious...

I think the cooking time depends if you want them nutritious or tasty.  ;)

Oh... I had one of my SCEs (Spontaneous Crying Episodes) while listening to the OCR of Weird Romance.  -Well, Ellen Greene always breaks my heart - in a good way.

Hmm...  Apparently there are delays on the Metro North New Haven line this morning.  In both directions.  Guess I should get ready to head out just in case...

Good morning!

A bluer sky today than yesterday, but the day promises to be much the same - unusually warm for April. Fine with me. I have much to do inside today.

I really enjoyed the pictures from last night's West Coast HHW gathering. Thanks so much, DR MBarnum, for sharing them with us. I'll look forward to more when you get the time to post them.

Madame Spivy was priceless!

I'm still waiting for that delivery of the Ultimate Bond DVD box that I got very cheaply at Amazon Marketplace last week. I will watch FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE if it arrives today.

If not, I may go back and do more comparisons with the two SOUND OF MUSIC DVDs I have on hand (before I give the 40th Anniversay edition back to best friend John).

I will definitely be recording the TWO HOUR special event IDOL show tonight. It's basically a telethon, and while it's certainly a worthwhile charity, I already have money earmarked for other charities and am not interested in the fund raising aspects of the show. Many of the guests aren't of much interest either, so I'll be speeding through much of it to get to the results.

Other new episdoes on tonight: JERICHO, CSI: NY, MEDIUM, CROSSING JORDAN, LOST (can't wait).

DR MBarnum - Thanks for the photos of last night's west coast HHW gathering.  Hoping for some from this morning's "pancake reprise."

Well, the theatre called a little while ago and has arranged for vans from the city up to Westport for today's matinee.  -Just in case the trains are still running - or not running as it were, so...  I have to be down on 44th Street in about 45 minutes, so...
