Dear Danise,

If you check in please know that we are thinking of you.

I think you did the right thing. Elmore said it very well. Tell your mother it's OK to go. I did with my father also and it helps everyone.

Take care of yourself dear friend. You have been through difficult times and you need care (from yourself or others who offer it). As Jose said, it's alright to cry.

Love and good wishes from Ben and Anthony

DR TCB, there were two network TV shows on this season about people kidnapped. There was an NBC series (which I didn't watch) and a Fox series. The Fox series involved the kidnapping of a senator's wife (about whom we learned some significant things during the 8 or 9 episodes we actually saw). It began with Gale Harold as the chief FBI agent. After about six episodes, he was killed and replaced by Eddie Cibrian.

The NBC series (which starred Timothy Hutton) was actually called KIDNAPPED. It may have dealt with a kidnapped son, but I don't know about it.

I began my evening of entertainment by finishing MY GAL SAL. Not a great musical; something Betty Grable could easily have done. I think I read somewhere that Zanuck was offering the moon to Harry Cohn at Columbia for Hayworth's contract because he dearly wanted her at Fox. He wouldn't budge on selling Rita's contract.

I knew Nan Wynn was Hayworth's voice double on this, but I couldn't remember who did Victor Mature's singing. It sounded to me like Dick Haymes, but it was Ben Gage.

Next, I watched the last half of a LAW & ORDER episode on TNT-HD that was from four or five years ago about a former cop played by Tony Lo Bianco who had turned to writing crime novels based on actual events. Good episode.

GHOST WHISPERER had an eerie episode as Melinda discovers another whisperer, a male who has his own agenda with the ghosts. Interesting, and though the ending of the episode didn't say "To Be Continued," it certainly wasn't wrapped up by the end of the hour.

RAINES had its season (and probably series) finale with a bittersweet episode involving the death of several people in a plane crash, one of whom was married to Raines' ex-wife.

RAINES has been an interesting but very low-key show with a different approach to solving its crimes but not one with breathless chases or overagitated emotions. I guess that's why it never caught on in a big way (thought it's done about as well as anything else on NBC except for their three or four hits.)

I ended the evening with LAW & ORDER, a story of a Russian prostitution ring and a Russian policeman here to find his daughter and track her killer. Lots of the usual LAW & ORDER twists with this one leading to a very moving ending with no black and white answers.

*Alas, someone near and dear to me dressed up as a lawn jockey for Halloween one year.  Needless to say, it was a very questionable choice of costume.

I used to go to a Halloween party every year where most of the partygoers were gay men. Those parties had some of the best costumes!

One year there was a tall, handsome African American guy dressed as a lawn jockey---lit lantern and all. I thought "What a sense of humor that guy has"!

I made it to the airport this morning, all due to the TOTALLY UNBOUNDED GOOD AND SWEET NATURE of our own DR dear Laura !

The gods were smiling on me, and I got upgraded to First on both legs of my trip to Philadelphia.  Yes, that is where I am at the moment.  I also had reserved a very inexpensive little compact car at Hertz online, and when I got to the Gold #1 Club area and found my car, it was a brand new, cute as anything, little PT Cruiser.

So it was an unexpectedly good trip..... and I even had one of the nicest layovers at O'Hare in Chicago, that I can remember.  Usually that is a noisy and totally boring airport terminal to me, but today was great!

There are entirely too many DRs who have multiple and varied talents!  :)
It's rather intimidating.

Well, it's not like "two turntables and a microphone". It's just my ipod and the bride picked out the music. So I guess I get to hear a lot of music I would normally never listen to: Kelly Clarkson, Tim McGraw, Foreplay(?) and probably wouldn't again.

There are 3 playlists: reception, dinner and dancing. There are not that many songs in each list, but she chose to repeat at least 4 of the songs!

(BTW, I made them 4 CD's selected from music that I put together for an engagement party I threw for a friend, but she only chose about 6 of those songs!)

Dear DR Danise ...... All good thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy and peaceful transition for your mother.

And don't think you have to try to "figure out" anything, or make anything happen.  Just be present, and reflect on any and all good thoughts you have of your mother.

Goodnight all.  I have to get some sleep and be energetic and perky for tomorrow.  I'm being interviewed and featured on a local Philadelphia area radio show.  It is hosted by a very dear friend of mine, who also happens to be a wonderful musician, named Peter Conte.  It should be fun to do.

Goodnight studlies & lovelies.....

and I only blame Jose a little tonight !  :)

Okay, now I remember.  The FOX show had shades of the DaVinci Code didn't it?

Well, there was a labyrinthan plot in the works that involved many things other than a kidnapped wife.

I had a wonderful time today at the Ray Courts show...it was a bit on the slow side today, and the celebrity guest line-up was a bit on the lean side...and most of the soap stars (who made up a good portion of the guest list this time) evidently decided to not show up. In fact I chatted with one guy from DAY'S OF OUR LIVES and said that it looked like he had been abandoned by his castmates...he was perplexed that he was the only one from his show, of about 5 people that were supposed to be there (including Kevin Spirtas), to show up. He seemed like a very nice guy (Steve Blackwood was his name) and I bought his CD that he was selling....a blind buy...and you know what...he is one heck of a good singer! And some great classic tunes!

But the celebrity guest line-up was about half what it normally is. The norm is 80 or so celebs...this time only about 40 or less.

DR Danise - As others have already said, there is no need to feel guilty for what you told your mother.  You only did that out of love and concern.  Continued thoughts and prayers.
