Needless to say, I had a pretty good time at Macy's.  And Banana Republic.  And The Gap.  ;)

-Well, actually, I didn't end up buying any at BR, but it was fun seeing what their spring/summer line looked like.  Lots and lots of linen.  In any case...

I probably spent a bit more than I should have, but as I was shopping, I realized the last time I had done any major clothes shopping was last fall.  And that was for fall/winter clothes.  With Spring in the air over the past few weeks, I've been basically wearing the same three dress shirts, and now I have a couple more to add to the rotation.  And most of them were on sale too!  *And I used my "Traveler's Discount" at Macy's too!  :)

Thankfully, due to the Mother's Day sales, the Men's Department wasn't too crazy.  And they had a bunch of stuff on sale too.  I made sure to try everything on, and anything that raised a question in my mind as soon as I looked at myself in the mirror was put right back on the hanger.  Consequently, it took me about two hours to buy four shirts, but at least I know I won't be returning them.

Whew!

And as for dinner - since we're wont to report such things here on HHW - I headed across the street to Devin's Fish & Chips.  Tonight's selections: Broiled Scallops, Steamed Broccoli and Spanish Rice.  YUM!

DR Jose - what's the traveler's discount at Macy's?

If you go to the Customer Service desk on the Arcade Level at the Macy's Herald Square location, and you present an out-of-state driver's license or an out-of-country passport, they will give you a "Savings Pass" good for 11% off your purchases that day.  And for the next five days.  At that Macy's and any other Macy's.  -I believe the foreign visitors discount is 15%.

I believe it was initially offered to off-set the New York State and City tax, but since there's now no tax on clothing under $100, it's a true 11% savings (at least on articles of clothing under $100).  And the discount applies in almost all departments, as well on any sale and clearance prices.

DR ELMORE - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that you are attempting to put the many sides of your life together in some order, and I will only say that Issy is YOU.

DR CILLA LIZ - you wonder how your sister in law ever gets anything done and why she is in charge of anything....she doesn't have....you guessed it a CLUE in a box.

My credit card is working fine at PayPal, but they were doing my statement today, so I am hoping Amazon was just trying to charge my order at the same time....and it was a technical glitch....I am hoping.

Officer to recruit: There is a bus load of USO girls coming in to do a show.  Meet them and find out where they want to have dinner.

Recruit to blonde:  Good evening.  The captain wants to know if you want to mess with the enlisted men or the officers.

Blonde to recruit:  We don't care, but we have to get something to eat first.

scary story from DR KAREN....but she did the right thing....and I will say now that it is behind her, that "Lamps" is my least favorite of all of the monologues in TALKING WITH.

O Mighty Dream-O-Matic 6000, is that good or bad?  Do I want to be Issy?  when I was talking to Issy, am I just talking to myself?  Oy!

Were is DR Miss Karen?  Was wondering how her monologue Lamps turned out?  The stress of learning and performing a monologue with just a few day's notice would do me in...    :)

She's probably feeling a bit "burned out"...
