12?

Let's celebrate with those clips showcasing some amazing singing by Mr Michael Ball and Miss Claire Moore! I'm VERY fond of Miss Moore's vocal talents!

One has to love Michael's baby face and curly hair in this clip!

DR Singdaw, I can't have any opinions about Tivo since I've never owned it. Those who have it swear by it.

Our cable service (Time Warner) offersa DVR with their digital cable boxes which offers two tuners and thee ability to record high definition channels. This is what I have, and it's wonderful. When you research Tivo and DVR, you need to keep in mind that Tivo requires a phone line connection (at least I believe it does; talk to others here who have it). The DVR requires only the cable connection. Some Tivo models offer more features than others. Again, the two technologies are similar but not exactly alike, so you do need to think about what you need from your recording device, what equipment you have (or want), and how much do you want to spend.

I began my evening of viewing finishing up two documentaries on the GOLDFINGER DVD special features disc. One was on the making of the film and the other was about the Bond phenomenon which swept the Us and the world after the release of GOLDFINGER.

Both were interesting documentaries (though each could have been much longer) and it was nice to see some of the toys and other merchandise that I vividly remember being sold in the mid-1960s.

Next I watched last week's episode of THE SOPRANOS. Once again, there was a lot of talk punctuated by a violent act near the end of the episode. That seems to be the motif for most of this final season's episodes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~Danise~~~~~~~~~~~
Mega vibes heading your way. I'm so sorry to hear that your mother has declined so quickly.
I hope Sheena will figure out what to do. If she has to go bad enough, maybe she will.
My best friend was staying at my house after I installed a cat door for my ancient cat when he was a youngster. She didn't have anything to do while I was at work so she spent several hours soving my cat in and out of the cat door. By the time I got home he had the system down!
It's good to have a friend like that!
Then I watched Mel Gibson's Mayan language film from last year APOCALYPTO. The film lets us get to know a tribe of people, has them conquered, and then we go on the journey to their final destination. Amazing that the last 45 minutes of the picture are THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME in Mayan. Exciting, breathtaking, but basically nothing we haven't seen before.
Of course, in the "making of" documentary I'm watching now, everyone keeps saying how this has never been done on the screen before. The Mayan language aspect of it is certainly unique, but the various rituals and blood sacrifices have been done in jungle pictures since the silent days.
I went with my DH, my mom and her better half to North carolina today to visit my brother. (It was his birthday last week.)
He has 5 dogs. There was a dramatic thunderstorm while we were there---they always seem bigger when we're looking out over the mountains. We each had a dog to cuddle and soothe through the storm so it worked out perfectly!
It is a beautiful transfer, however. Being 1.85:1 and anamorphic, it fills up the widescreen, and all that jungle green and the riot of color in the various costumes, makeup, and jewelry is really eye-catching.
So, the NC mountains, DR Edi? Not near my neck of the woods?
Thank you DR Ginny.  I hate to keep bringing every one down.  I think I'll sit and read for a little bit.  I bought a book, Stephen Kings, "IT" at the local GoodWill when I was looking for the local bus stop.
I liked the ad campaign for this book: "Don't Leave Home Without "IT" "!
Back from a happily short show - ninety minutes in and out.  Interesting piece that doesn't quite do what it wants to do, but nice to see something original being tried.
I ate at the French Market Place, and I had an incredibly disgusting allergy attack, worse than the already terrible ones I've been having all day.  Thank goodness it didn't keep on and I was almost okay for the duration of the play.
Later this morning, the season ticket holders for the Seattle Storm can go to a Q&A session at the Key Arena.  My niece (and season ticket holder) MUST go, and I've been commanded to take her.  It should only last a couple of hours, then we'll go to Silver Platters where I can make some more purchases...maybe. ::)
The Q&A with the Seattle Storm was fun.  We watched them practice with some very attractive men (who were all very good basketball players)!  After the open practice, there was a short Q&A with the entire team (but not the men :() and then we were all separated into sections where one team member spoke/ answered questions/ autographed things for three minutes.  When the buzzer buzzed, each team member rotated to the next group.  It was cool!  Each group got three minutes with every team member.
After we left Seattle, my niece and I went to Silver Platters in Renton where I bought The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Evil Dead: The Musical and the DVD to "All About Eve" (which I just realized that I might already have ::)).  I hate it when that happens.
Heading south again, I demanded that we stop at Pepper at Ted Brown so that I could look at some songbooks.  I ended up buying the vocal selections to William Finn's "Elegies:  A Song Cycle" and "Avenue Q" (which I'm also wondering if I already have...but I'm not sure :P).
