BRASS TACKS

Well, you've read the notes, you are now down to brass tacks, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently getting down to brass tacks and they don't even know what the HELL that means.

Will we never get to page two?  We don't even have any GUESTS.  People must be sleeping.

I'm about to feed the dogs and then leave to visit friends for the evening.
We may watch Val Kilmer.  Val is Moses.

Vibes of comfort and support for DR DANISE - who, if I had a daughter - would be the one I want.

DR Danise, I just read your post.  Many vibes to you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am also not surprised that you were upset that you were not awake when your mother finally passed.  But if you think about it logically, you were there and you did all that you could do.  You could not stay awake 24/7 and you were there laying beside her when she went.

You have been totally devoted to her for years.  So don't feel bad.  Plus you were there. You were right beside her.  It's not like there is anything else you could have done.

Please take care of yourself.

MR BK calls them "playoffs" - I have heard them called this as well.  I have also seen them in scores marked as "tags."

Congrats to DR RLP on 12,000 posts!

And thanks to DR RLP and DR MATTH for their musings on Frances Farmer in SON OF FURY.  Yes it was  thankless, two-faced role....  the saddest thing for me is that it could have lead to a whole revived career in second lead and "character" parts for her, had she so decided to go that way.

Preston Sturges wanted her for a role in TAKE A LETTER, DARLING - a very funny role eventually played by Constance Moore, when Paramount couldn't even get Frances to the studio for costume fittings and tests.

TOD is a difficult choice.

Gary Cooper:

BEAU GESTE
DESIRE
TEN NORTH FREDERICK
THE FOUNTAINHEAD

Barbara Stanwyck:

TITANIC
BALL OF FIRE
LADY OF BURLESQUE
MIRACLE WOMAN
STELLA DALLAS
CRIME OF PASSION

Barbara Stanwyck acting trick to watch for....

I have noticed that EVERY TIME Barbara is doing a speech that is going to be interrupted by the other actor, she begins talking and then looks down, so that we she is interrupted, she can look up and react.

And I'm glad I didn't say Jrand has a big one coming soon.  That could have been misinterpreted.  Whew!
