Hello, EDI.  A slow day at HHW, methinks.

I didn't know about petloss.com. A nice idea, a sort of remote wake.

I noticed that SINGDAW watched VENUS. Did anyone else? I quite liked it. I thought it was an excellent contrast between generational values. And Peter O'Toole is such a joy to watch.

They have a chat room (I like to think of it as French for "cat room") so any hour of the day or night when you're feeling sad about your pet, there is almost always someone there to talk to who shares your feelings. They are tremendously compassionate, like the folks on HHW. They helped me a lot on those nights when I couldn't sleep after losing my ancient cat.

I go back from time to time, to offer support. Other people do, too. They all have a wolf suffix after their names, given to them by the moderator as sort of a title to those who return to help others.

Sounds like a very nice website. I know how devastating it can be to lose a pet.

Ah, SINGDAW has joined us.

What did you think of VENUS, SINGDAW?

DRs SWW and der Brucer...I don't believe I expected the news about Marty so quickly.  I am so very sorry for your loss.

Good afternoon, DR Jeanne!  Truth be told, I have been running errands since I got out of work yesterday, and haven't had 2 hours together to sit down and watch the darn thing...still queued up!  I will report back when I've managed to watch it.  But I'm expecting good things after all the reports!

This doesn't bode well for trying to watch 2 whole seasons of "The Closer."

I'd like to watch UGLY BETTY. Same problem.

Has anyone seen SLEEPERS, the British show about two former KGB agents who defected to the UK? I watched the first two episodes and found it quite fun.

SWoody and DerBrucer, I am so sorry to hear the sad news. I am glad, though, that Marty's passing was peaceful.

Good Afternoon!

Back from Carytown.  It was nice to find that none of my favorites stores had closed - although there were some new storefronts, and a few papered-overed windows.  I managed to pick up some cute stuff for my nieces and nephew.  I was going to get a house-warming present for my parents, but I decided to wait until I see what they do and don't have in the new place.  Alas, finding a birthday present for my mom was not to be today.  There's one other cool store here in town, and I may stop by there on the way to the new house in a few.  But all in all, a very nice day of walking and shopping.  -Oh, and, yes, chocolate was bought and consumed.  :)

Well, time for me to pack up my things here, and see if my car still starts after these couple of months.  Steve has been moving it from one of the side of the street to the other over the past couple of weeks, now to see if it will make it more than just a couple of yards.

Again, I'm not sure what kind of internet connectivity my parents have at the new house, so if I don't post later on tonight, don't worry.  It just means I'm going through boxes.  I hope.  ;)

You could aways try sitting in some of their neighbors' yards to see what kind of connection you can find.  Or, at least, to see what kind of good-looking neighbors there are.
