So, apparently winning a Tony for best revival is absolutely meaningless.

Well, Journey's End closed a few hours before the Tony's began, so...

Showbiz is just showbiz.

Boy I'll say playbill.com is having technical difficulties. Did it tell you to put in a user name and password?

Nope.

Guess they're working on something.

Cilla, glad you won't be stressed if you are delayed.  Sometimes I am stranded at airports with people who are going to same day funerals, weddings, even planned births, etc.  I don't understand why they don't fly out a day earlier.

Well, I want to get there, but you have to put it in perspective...and have at least one or two good books.

Has anyone ever seen the RB movie "Villain"? It was based on the Kray brothers...(or the Pirhana Brothers, for any Monty Python fans out there.) It's a very lurid and unplesant film, directed by the first director I ever worked for, Michael Tuchner. (Also kind of an unpleasant guy...)

The plus of working on that first film was that I got to work with G.W. Bailey, a.k.a. Lt Provenza.

Nope, but I loved the film "The Krays!"

My friend Cathie did a magnet treatmet for muscles in her arm, as I recall.

DR Elmore, besides arranging the orchestra parts in JUBILEE, did you also do the vocal arrangements?

Every one of them! Also, all the dance arrangements except for the two ballets "Judgment of Paris"  and the unrecorded "Beach Dance."

It's raining.  It's not.  It's raining.  It's not.  And so on and so forth - for the next 24-36 hours so they say.

The rain is just like the office lease. I hear we're still in the running.  If  he signs the damned lease today.  Oy!

And the word of the day is: REDOUND!
You ain't nothin' but a RED 'OUND
Howlin' all the time.
You ain't nothin' but a RED 'OUND
Howlin' all the time.
Well, you ain't well ROUNDED
And you ain't no dog of mine.

And that's about as much as any Elvis Presley song has redounded on my life.

Hmm...  I was checking the website for Ford's Theatre just to see what they were doing next season.  Well... They're currently closed for renovations until their annual presentation of A Christmas Carol.  And then after that, they'll be dark until next year's presentation of A Christmas Carol.  I guess they are going forth with all the renovations to the theatre and the museum downstairs.

The Hollywood High School Alumni are currently working with Hollywood Heritage, a preservation group, to have the high school library named a historic landmark and be protected from the hands of the landgrabbers.  The library has been on site since 1912, and is one of the oldest buildings in Hollywood. In this picture taken during the Hollywood High School Alumni's 100th anniversary, the president of Hollywood Heritage Mark Wannamaker,   ( head of Bison Archives ), and cheif preservationist and lawyer Robert Nudleman ( one of the seven major forces to save Hollywood in Los Angeles magazine's Hollywood issue ) show off a panorama picture of Hollywood in 1913 in which the only remaining buildings are the school library, Yamashiro, and The Magic Castle.

To the tune of the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil"

Let me proudly introduce myself...

Hi, my name is Mz Karen and I used to be a HHW gratuitous poster many, many postings ago...You thought you were rid of me, but I'm BAAA-CKKK! And I expect, no, make that demand, a flurry of frenzied postings welcoming me back -- postings like "Mz Karen, my darling, youhave been missed terribly"  "Things were never the same once you left us"  "Don't you ever pull that stunt again" etc., etc.

(in my very best AA welcoming drone
Hi, Karen.

Well, I suppose I should pack. I hate packing for a conference in a place that is having hot weather. It's always freezing in the conference rooms and really hot outside....too many clothes to pack!

I saw JOURNEY'S END in Lodon.  It was brilliant.  I'm glad it won for revival, though I wouldn't have been sad if INHERIT THE WIND had won.  I can't think of two more relevant plays for these times.

AIR FORCE CONSIDERED GAY 'LOVE BOMB' AGAINST ENEMIES

Quote:
Quote
The Air Force on Tuesday confirmed a report that in 1994 a military researcher requested $7.5 million to develop a non-lethal "love bomb" that would chemically alter the state of mind of enemy troops and make them want to have sex with each other rather than fight.

Wasn't a prototype tested in San Francisco?

der Brucer

This could give a whole new meaning to the phrase "We have incoming."

Would you buy a used car from this man?
He's way too young to be selling used cars.

Tricycles, maybe.
