Flag Day is the anniversary of my divorce, I never forget it either   ;D   This will be the 18th anniversary of my divorce!

We'll have to put on our red, white, and blue pantaloons and celebrate the anniversary!

I always say, when I walked out of the Central Court Building in Phoenix after the divorce being final....the flags were flying to celebrate my freedom.....sort of like this Independence Day  is really an independence day for me. I guess I have a holiday theme for major events in my life

Very cool view, Cillaliz. I generally get a view of the parking garage.

Actually, unless you were listening to the tower/pilot audio, you never would have known what was happening. The pilot really was that good.  After we landed and the rain, wind and hail hit there were audible gasps on the plane, by that time we were already on the ground

I'm very close to Pleasure Island...that and the tennis courts and the golf course are my view. Better during the day

Plus most of the people on the plane still had their window shades down after watching Wild Hogs.  Silly movie, but fun on the plane.  Glad I saw it free.

Well, it's been quite a day, I did actually get to one session tonight and got a load of freebies. I'm starting at 8:00 AM, so I better get a shower and get to bed.   I'm not sure I'll get to sleep soon, there is a lot of noise from next door and from what sounds like an outdoor party at Pleasure Island.

Thanks for the update.  IMHO:

It’s obvious Clemmenson has become a regular, I’m pleased to see it is official.

And it’s been obvious for awhile now that Auberjonois isn’t really in the show anymore.

Just when Brad and Denise  finally becoming interesting, as a couple, they are out of the show.

I found Zimmer sto be a great addition, until they paired her up with Clarence & took away her spunky personality, such a shame.

That leaves only one strong female lead in the show.  I wish they would keep Zimmer.

A young actress has been hired to fill Zimmer's spot, but I couldn't remember her name.

I was not a fan of Zimmer's character and Clarence together. Once again, all this "in-breeding" in the office just gets SO old after awhile.

Watched some interesting programming tonight.

I began with the Philo Vance mystery THE DRAGON MURDER CASE. As the movie began and I saw the set-up, I realized I had seen this many, many years ago, but I had no clue as to how it turned out, and, sure enough, I did not guess the identity of the murderer. I had gone in a different direction entirely.

Next I watched the first TCM movie on their "gay images in cinema" festival. This one was a 1955 film noir called THE BIG COMBO. Great cast: Cornell Wilde, Richard Conte, Brian Donlevy, Whit Bissell, but the two of greatest interest were Lee Van Cleef and Earl Holliman playing lovers in the film. Van Cleef was astonishingly beautiful then, and they made a very sexy duo. And when one was killed and the other was beside himself with grief, these killers actually ended up being the key to the downfall of head man Conte. Some really stylish things about the film, too, made for Allied Artists on an obviously low budget.

This is a movie that deserves to be better known.

Ok, people. Remember this is my daughter and we will have no comments about her being easy.

Not to worry...easy is a Shasta Cola.

And I ended my evening with the season premiere of RESCUE ME. More comedy than drama in this week's episode, though there was one spectacular fire scene that seemed to be taking several of their lives. It ended in a very surprising fashion.

Glad to have it back for its spring/summer run.

...and I must say, it's easier with 4 people!!!  More later....

Shucks, BK and his tech wizards could produce a recording of piano quartets using a one-fingered piano player.

Correct.

Speaking of a reissue, though, I'm currently thinking about reissuing Classical Broadway, which is classical chamber music by Charles Strouse, Cy Coleman, John Kander, and Harvey Schmidt.  Would there be interest?

YES!

Boy would I love to come in to NY.

Would there be interest if I could release the original soundtrack recording of Jacques Demy's Une Chambre Un Ville (A Room In Town), a gorgeous 100 minutes of music, mostly sung ala Umbrellas of Cherbourg - the score is by Michel Columbier and it's absolutley gorgeous.

I would do it as a limited edition of maybe 1200 copies.  The sound is spectacular, but the film is virtually unknown - never had a US release and bombed in France.

YES (after Return to OZ I'll presume you're on a roll)

The Big Combo was directed by the wonderful Joseph H. Lewis and shot by the great John Alton.  I think the Image DVD is long out of print, but I'm happy to have it.

So...

"So You Think You Can Dance?" - Not a bad start to the actual competition.  I enjoyed tonight's episode.  A lot.

As for "Traveler"...  I'm tempted to see how this show is doing in the ratings since I don't think I can bear to watch another episode of this show.  Cliche after cliche.  And rip-off after rip-off.  And, yes, sometimes there can be too many conspiracies.  :-\
