DR LAURA - Jim was nicknamed Big Tuna because the first day at the new office he ordered a large tuna sandwich for lunch.

PEEPING TOM is one of my favorite films as well.  I didn't know it had been released by Criterion until it was written about here on HHW.  I ordered the disk....

Anna Massey's reactions to the film she watches is enough for me....I didn't have to see them...whew!

I hate movies like NANCY DREW (2007) which trash old classic favorites to make a joke.  The audience those movies are intended for don't really know the history of the character or what it is really about, so the title character comes off looking dumb....which Nancy never was!

At least the Pamela Sue Martin television series had some respect for the original material....some.

Tonight is the season premiere of DR EDISAURUS' show THE CLOSER.

I will be at auditions teaching some dancing....but luckily TNT reruns it series a couple of times, so I will watch it when I get home.

More TOD:

I was trying to avoid movie adaptions of B'way musicals, but here are some anyway:

Marion the Librarian -- THE MUSIC MAN
Cool --  WEST SIDE STORY
The Bottle Dance -- FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
Oom Pah Pah -- OLIVER
Steam Heat -- THE PAJAMA GAME
Shall We Dance -- THE KING AND I
From This Moment On -- KISS ME, KATE (not in the original show, but works so well in the movie.)

Monday morning greetings!  It's going to be a l-o-o-o-n-n-n-g week here at work, when I'd rather be home getting ready for our Washington/NYC trip.  Thursday is my manager's last day before he goes off to work for a local university  :'(

BK, do you know if THE RATINGS GAME was always intended for Showtime? I wonder if it was ever thought of for theatrical release. It sure had a wonderful plot idea and a cast full of stars.

For those unfamiliar with the RATINGS GAME, Danny DeVito plays a rich, kind of stupid businessman, who dreams of being a TV star so he produces terrible pilots for himself, and they are so bad, but he finds a network like NBC is now, in such bad shape that they'll put anything on. Then he devises a kind of brilliant scheme to make the ratings appear to be really high for his shows and becomes a great success for awhile.

TOD - most already mentioned...

Once a Year Day from THE PAJAMA GAME film
America - WSS film and stage
Barn Raising-Challenge Dance - 7 BRIDES for 7 BROTHERS (if they had figured out a way to do that onstage I think the show might have run longer)

The end of PIPPIN

Turkey Lurkey Time from PROMISES PROMISES and CAMP

Embarrassingly enough, the current number that i watch over and over again and don't tire of is "So Much Better," the first act finale of LEGALLY BLONDE, which seems to be in an authorized clip on youtube.

I'll have to think about older numbers.  there are many.
