IN THE OFFING AND ONING

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with ephemera and detritus, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - it's in the offing, I know it is.

Greetings to all.  Sorry to be so E&T yesterday and today...

I'm off in the Catskills, helping my DH prepare for a conference which starts today, which he is co-chairing.  300 delegates of the ACC - the American Conference of Cantors.

I shall return late today to catch up!  :)

Good morning, all! While 10% of New York marches down Fifth Avenue today, I will be working on edits at Toyland.  Mr Murray and I will be working through Tuesday since I will be taking Wed-Friday off to visit with incoming Hainsies and Kimlets.  Has anyone heard from DR vixmom one way or t'other? She has not responded to my mass email.

I've been printing out new pdf's for Kevin Spirtas, since I've just got a bit of arranging for him, and my printer's acting up.  Damn!

And off to Toyland.

Unseemly trivia question is giving me some trouble, as usual.

Thanks to DR FRANCOIS for the Betty Hutton clips a couple of days ago....a real find!!

DR JOSE - I am not sure what those clips were....but they were VERY interesting.  And I guess that guy and his wife in the audience were who the celebration was for!

Great news about the NYMF, BK. I hope you get the Acorn. It's a 2-minute walk from my home!

Good morning!

I was awakened from a sound sleep by rumblings of thunder that went on for ten minutes. I couldn't hear any rain, but I assumed it was happening. Yep, when I finally got up, it had rained (but not hard).

I had planned to mow the grass early this morning. Now, I must see if the sun will dry the lawn so I can mow today. If not, later this week.

Other than NANCY DREW AND THE HIDDEN STAIRCASE, I have made no definite DVD plans for today.

I suspect THE HISTORY BOYS will make for an appropriate evening movie, but I'm still undecided about what I'll watch this afternoon.

bk - Does NYMF/Equity/AFM/etc. restrict the number of hours you can rehearse?  Or am I just stuck in "workshop" mode?

A Conference of Cantors in the Catskills...  Perhaps they might break into a Chorale?

Yeah... "Interesting" is a good word.  IIRC, Joop van den Ende(?) was/is a Dutch theatrical producer.  He used to bankroll some productions here in NYC, and was infamous(?) for running shows at a loss for the tax write-off - or some set-up like that.  I believe Wildhorn's Jekyll & Hyde was his biggest "cow".

And since the trains are truly messed up this weekend - the D is running on the A ???, and only local heading downtown, but running express uptown ??? - I should get ready to meet my friends for the big ole Parade.  And if you happen to see any coverage on the news, I'll be the gay one.  ;D

*OH!  And I have to say the weather forecast for the coming week here in NYC is quite nice.  Yes, it's supposed to get into the 90's with some rain mid-week, but come the weekend, mid-70s and sunny.  -Sounds like a good time to visit NYC with friends.  :)

What is the revolutionary costume for today?

I am wearing a pair of blue jean carpenter-style shorts that hit just above the knee, white crew socks, and a bright red polo shirt from Old Navy.

The hat is black with the logo from Monday Night Football, and the shoes are brown topsiders.

And that is MY revolutionary costume for today....what about yours?

DR EDISAURUS, I liked that cheerleading video from yesterday.  Those gentlemen are certainly athletic.  And great tumbling passes!

Anthony did a fringe show a few years ago, and yes, Equity (at least, I can't speak for the others) restricts the number of rehearsal hours.
