-And that Coconut Layer Cake really has to be one of the best coconut layer cakes I've ever had.  The cake part was like a sponge or genoise - nice and light-textured, with a good crumb.  Not the usual heavy, dense white cake layers.  There were nice layers of lemon curd between the layers, and the just the right amount of not-to-sweet frosting and toasted coconut.  A true YUM!

Is it me, or does anyone else think "Hair" is dreadful?

Well... It's certainly not a show for everyone.  However, it's also one of those shows that either done well, or it shouldn't have been done at all.  Good productions of Hair are very hard to come by.

Fifteen minutes before curtain, my cell phone rings. A church member was calling to tell me she set off the alarm. So I had to talk her through how to get it off and then call the security company to let them know it was okay and to cancel the police dispatch.

And now I think I should go make sure that she got the church locked up and alarmed correctly.

Sounds like a good idea.

I've just finished reading "Michael Toliver Lives".  I'm not disappointed in anyway.  How wonderful to feel so comfortable inside a novel.

I am here at the Portland Airport and it seems that because of thunderstorms or some such thing in NY that my plane will be late....really, really late. I was supposed to leave at midnight but I was told that it would be 4:00 AM at the earliest before we could leave (seeing as how the plane I am to be on has not left Jfk yet). There are several passengers from a NY bound Delta flight that was cancelled who are hoping to get on my flight.

I had better e-mail Elmore that I will not get into Manhattan until around 1:30pm at the earliest....I surely hope I don't miss the big Thursday night HHW Indian dinner  :(

Well, 'tis been a long day, and I have another short audition session tomorrow before the HHW NYC Madness starts to kick into full gear tomorrow night.

Goodnight.

Hmm... I was wondering about that.  The current weather map here in NYC has lots of "red" spots on it.  And the storms are supposed to continue throughout the overnight hours.  As long as you get here safe and sound sometime tomorrow, that's all that matters.   You, we can always do Indian food Friday, Saturday an/or Sunday.

DR MBarnum - I just checked the forecast for tomorrow...  Storms all day right now.  I'd see if you can go ahead and rebook on a later flight tomorrow - this way you can avoid getting delayed further.  -And then you could also head back home for a bit.

I'd better meet Baayork one of these days.  I mean, I met her way back when at the Shubert here in LA, but it would be fun to reminisce with her.
