DR George, glad that your run-through went so well!

Thanks!  Tonight, we have our first paying audience (our only preview...$5)!

Just set a casting director, so that's one thing down.  However, I'm getting a little hinky that I can't get responses to my e-mails from the NYMF people, nor have I received the paperwork they've supposedly sent.

I hope the new casting director will use the talent on offer from Tacoma.

Good morning, H/Ks!

TOD:

Ooooh, I like this one!

I saw Margaret Tyzack recently in two wonderful performances:
COUSIN BETTE
MIDSOMER MURDERS' Death in the Garden

I was unfamiliar with her prior to COUSIN BETTE, but what a wonderful actress! In MM, she plays a grandmother who simply oozes poison. It's British TV, of course, but I can't imagine playing such a character in a long-running stage play.

Anyone else a fan of Margaret Tyzack?
Der Brucer and I saw Ms. Tyzack perform in London, in the play Lettice and Lovage opposite Maggie Smith.  (This was while the play was finishing up previews, with it's original ending.)  There are not many actors who can hold their own opposite Maggie Smith, particularly when Maggie Smith is at her most flamboyant.  Ms. Tyzack did so with ease.

I couldn't get on the internet this morning....damned Comcast.

So I missed all of last night's comments and the cross country Barnum today.

Rumors are swirling that Saturday's performances of Broadway's Company revival will be taped for ultimate broadcast on PBS.  The production closes this weekend.

I think that this is wonderful news!  Another Sondheim on video (even if it's not the original) and another Broadway show on video! :D

Loving the choices for TOD:

will second:

Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Iselin in MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE
Patty McCormick as Rhoda in THE BAD SEED
Brian Donlevy in BEAU GESTE

and add:

Carroll Baker in KINDERGARTEN COP

"Who are you, mean lady?"

"I'm your fairy godmother."

And she is standing in line at the drugstore with her grown sons who have escaped from prison, and she is buying a hot water bottle and an enema tube.

I am very afraid that the judges' comments and the tears and humble pie of Cedric the Destroyer (and Shauna's talent) will put them VERY high in the voting this evening....and cause another talented guy to be sent home....my fear is that it will be Neil on the bubble.

Hmmmm this will take some thought....

TOTD:
...From Doctor Who (cheesy villains i know but really..) The Master played by Anthony Ainsley and the Daleks...

Be forewarned: Doctor Who returns!

Friday, July 6th, the Sci-Fi channel will be airing the second Christmas special, The Runaway Bride, AND the first episode of the third series, Smith and Jones, which introduces us to Freema Agyeman as the Doctor's new companion, Martha Jones.

And be prepared - later in the season, one of the episodes is titled Daleks in Manhattan.  Somehow, I doubt they'll be seeking gainful employment as taxi cabs!

DR SINGDAW thanks for posting the link.

Yes a new round of voting for FLYER IDOL is in progress, and niece Amanda Mitchell can use your vote.

And the prize is indeed a regular column for a year in the Flyer!

We watched "The Runaway Bride" last night. Good fun and my favourite Doctor since Baker.

A couple of months ago, I watched "The Runaway Bride" on YouTube!  I don't know if it's still there, but it was good enough for me to watch...I will watch it again on the Sci-Fi channel.  Also, the first two episodes with Martha (I'm pretty sure that two have been recorded on my DVR) have been broadcast on CBC from Canada!  I've only watched the first one (unless I really do only have one recorded ::)), but they're ahead of the Sci-Fi channel on this show. :D

Was Tennant's "Blackpool" shown in the USA?  Great little series.

I've never heard of it, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't.

I'm listening to Jane Siberry's "When I Was Boy". It's only taken me 14 years to discover this!

Actually  it was Matt H who led me to "Deadwood" - from there to the soundtrack and then to Siberry. An interesting journey. A journey also enhanced by the music of Gustavo Sanaolalla.  We watched "Babel" last week and I very much like the soundtracks of "Brokeback Mountain" and "Motorcycle Diaries".  Perhaps I shoud check out "21Grams" .

What is the reason for this errant and truant behavior?  Visits?  Well, we'd better have a plethora of postings later, then, because this is most unseemly.

I watched ZERO HOUR last night, and like DR MATTH was surprised to see Mr John Ashley in the credits....and even more surprised and dismayed at the way he was used.....as was DR MATTH.
