BK - Interesting (and unlike them) that that financial element never came up in conversation with NYMF before they made their public announcement.  Is it nowhere in the online info?  When would you have found out if you hadn't read the contract so carefully?

Yep, a bit of false advertising on the NYMF website -- talks about a $500 fee, but nothing about the $5,000 fee -- so one is lead to believe there is only a $500 fee.

BK, did they say why only $500 for the link shows, but $5,000 for the nominated/recommended shows? Why not the same fee across the board for all the shows -- why the big jump to $5,000 for a recommended/nominated show?  ???

I just realized that Sept 30th I have already spent several hundred dollars on an animal rescue benefit in NC. Tickets to this were my brotehr's birthday present, because I wanted him to meet the amazing woman who is having this.

Also, one of my favorite clients is getting married that weekend. But...I don't know his fianceé and he hasn't sent out invitations yet, so I don't even know if I'm invited. (I would be disappointed if I wasn't, but since I don't know her, it wouldn't surprise me.)

I will have to figure out how to work this out so I can still go to THE BRAIN!

(You can put me down for $100 anyway...)

Speaking of SONG OF NORWAY, I still have the souvenir program sitting around here, not to mention the lp of the film's soundtrack AND the KEY video vhs release. . .or was that Playhouse video? ? ?

Awwww. thanks, td. He's one of my favorite composers.

I just looked it up on the imdb and someone called it "The destitute man's SOUND OF MUSIC". A pretty apt description!

It's nice to know that someone else appreciates this film. (At least I think you do!)

And of course, I have the VHS. Somehow, I don't know if this is one that I'll replace with DVD, but it's nice to know that I could...

I have the white one, but it wouldn't surprise me if it is down in the basement growing mold after one of the many renovation projects to my tiny house.

Hi, MG---there's a little something on its way to you from Atlanta. It took a while to get it and your address in the same place so that I could send it! Vibes on your fundraising, too!

You DON'T have a region-free player?

Ah, yes...here it is, in the Harry All Day broadcast. They included his version as well as Sinead O'Connor's.

Sad, isn't it. I don't have time to watch all the stuff I have, much less expand my options.

My DVD player is practically new. It has a recorder but I've never figured out how to use it. The cable guy said the only way I could record off-air was to buy their comcast TiVo thingy.

But whenever this one bites the dust, I will go for the multi-region one!

Good morning!

Already very hot and we had a big cloud cover this morning, but that seems to be clearing away. I already see a lot more sunlight than I did even thirty minutes ago.

I believe your cable guy is trying to sell/rent you their box, so I believe he's mistaken. If I were there, I'd be glad to see what I could do to hook you up so you could record. It's a shame to let that part of your equipment go to waste (unless you have no need to record anything).

I was going to mention about not remembering Edward G. Robinson in RAGTIME. I do believe DR Tom was thinking of James Cagney. Hadn't Robinson died by the time RAGTIME was made?

I have two little items remaining to watch/listen to on the ACE IN THE HOLE set, and then I'll be finished with it. LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES coming on Monday.

I guess I'll continue with MURDER SHE WROTE this afternoon.

Tonight is the HBO-HD premiere of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. I have the DVD, of course, and since I did, I didn't spring for the Blu-ray version of the film. Tonight, I'll get to see what the high definition version looks like. If it's a major jump from what I already have, I may give that disc to my friend Jeff and upgrade to the Blu-ray version. If I don't see much difference (and sometimes the differences aren't pronounced like with TERMINATOR 2), I'll just keep what I've got.
