OH - I just pulled my book off the shelf, something didn't seem write... The name of the Finney novel should be, "Marion's Wall" - I guess I had a little Craig Carnelia on the brain.  -And the collection I have, "3 by Finney" also has "The Woodrow Wilson Dime," and "The Night People" in it.  Very good reads.

-And who is the real C.M. - I must have missed it?  Or not read between the lines as well as usually do? ;)

hmmm ..."Didn't seem write..." - Well, I guess that could work.

Oh, and BK - In your notes, will be getting a digital "what" of Kritzer Time?  I'm assuming a copy.

A "limited" history in Show Business?  I guess they consider guest starring on all the top 70s sit-coms; writing, co-directing and starring in the best musical film since the golden days of MGM; producing scores (no pun intended) of CDs and being nominated for a Grammy; writing three excellent books of fiction; etc. "limited".  What are their credits?

According to Playbil.com, Christina Applegate Offered Sweet Charity Lead.  I like her as an actress and she's making her Broadway debut.  Will she be good?  I would like to think so.

Thank you kindly, WEL.  I really DON'T have an ego about any of it, that's the joke.  These people are mostly very young.  There will be a column about this over on our new site, but DVD, for some reason, has made everyone into an armchair expert.  This didn't happen with VHS, it didn't happen with BETA, it didn't happen with laserdisc - it's just very curious.  Most of them are not in the business, not that that means anything.  One of them, in this amusing thread that's turned into a bashing ME thread, said they'd saved a post in which I said that Robert Harris was a sham (I don't THINK I used that word in relation to Mr. Harris personally) because I suggested that the "restoration" of My Fair Lady was made to seem all out of proportion to what was actually done.  The negative for that film was not damaged beyond repair, it was in pretty good shape - you can see for yourself if you watch the documentary.  They're cleaning it up - they did a good job of cleaning it up, repairing splices and tears and getting dirt off.  This is not MAJOR - major is faded, major is destroyed, major is shrunk.

Panni how did you feel reading the letters?  I recently disposed of some personal letters and poems I would never want my children to see.  I hope it wasn’t a mistake.

After I got over the initial surprise, I was happy for my mother that she had this lovely fantasy toward the end of her life. After she died, I phoned the man (in South America) and told him of her death. Of course, I'd never spoken to him before and haven't since, but I felt he should know.
If you feel better having thrown away the letters and poems, Jane, then it wasn't a mistake.

Yes, DR Jennifer, I got your e-mail. I just didn't think I had anything to add to the comments I had made on site. I finally put everything together that the show revealed, but I'd still like to see the earlier episodes this season to see if indeed everything we were told last night jibes with what we previously saw. Mind blowing is all I can say.

I'm going to visit Doris Dowling this afternoon. She's an amazing woman (and actress, as you know) - sounded very cheerful on the phone. Her husband said I was one of their favorite people. Very sweet. When I saw her in September, she could still get around with help. Now she can't. She was pleased to hear last time that she has fans on this site, so if any of you have messages, I'll convey them.

DR MattH or any other Alias fans: Have you seen the site alias-tv.com? I started reading it after watching the episodes. It helps me to keep all the info straight.

I told my mom that I had watched Alias and paused it to let different parts sink in. She acted like I was insane for watching a show that had such a complex storyline :)

DR Matt - you have been Karma-lized!

I laughed out loud earlier today when I was reading the inane remarks on the home theater forum (no harm in calling a spade a spade).

I mainly laughed at the attacks on BK's so-called ego.  in my humble opinion, and I am sure the drs will agree with me, the BK we have come to know and love is one of the least egocentric creatures on god's green earth!  He's smart, he's brainy, he's witty, he's multi-talented, he's a multi-tasker AND he has allowed each and everyone of us the opportunity to present our views publicly on HIS FORUM, whether or not he personally agreed with what we have to say.
How unlike other hosts/moderators of less popular (and less populated) sites on the net. . .

thanks, bk!

DR Panni,
Your story about the letters made me remember a dear old friend, Mrs. G., who passed away several years ago at a mentally sharp and physically not too bad 103. Mrs. G. grew up in England before moving to Toronto at about age 10. She had the best stories, some of them quite bawdy. The one I thought about was of her suitor who was so sure she'd agree to his proposal that he bought her a set of fancy dishes. When she rejected him, he told her, "Take the dishes. And every time one of them breaks, you'll know my heart is breaking, too." I asked Mrs. G., then in her 90s, what happened to the dishes. "Oh," she said simply, "I use them for my Passover set."

One of the topics at yesterday's sparkling chat was soup. DR Emily mentioned French onion, made with beer. An important question: Do you add additional stock, or is it all beer? (I've been in a French onion soup mood, and I have a good recipe - does anyone want it? - but hesitate to use a stock made of cow bones.)

Wonderful story, Dan-in-TO.

I just got a call from one of the producers and the Network has finally responded to my script. All very positive. Hooray! We have a meeting set in two weeks with notes. Huge sigh of relief.
