Next, I watched the first disc of ELIZABETH I with Helen Mirren. I've seen the show several times on HBO-HD, but since HBO isn't issuing the show on Blu-ray (or HD-DVD for that matter), I opted for the DVD release.

No, it wasn't as sharp as the HD version, and some of it was grainier than I remembered it being, but I certainly didn't remember much about Leister's death in this miniseries. I felt like a scene or two in the last part of this section was new to me.

Since I was in a Tudor mood, I put in the Cate Blanchette ELIZABETH. I received several phone calls during the movie, so I didn't get to finish it, but I was quite amazed at how much they squeezed into this version of the story, much of which was out of place with the queen the age that was being portrayed.

I hadn't watched this in three or four years, so I had forgotten a lot about it. Didn't realize who Daniel Craig was when I was this the first time, but there he is as a monk in a scene with John Gielgud.

Anyway, I'll finish it tomorrow.

DR Jose: My flight isn't until nearly 1:00 in the afternoon. To stay up til then would be nearly impossible at this point. I went to bed at 12:30 last night (!!) because I was so tired from the beach, but I will probably be up for a little bit longer tonight to finish getting my things together.

DR MattH: I'm a big fan of the Moonlighting series. Well, the first two seasons, at least. Season four slows WAY down. I'm still waiting to get Season Three.

I agree completely which is why I only bought the first two boxes that contain seasons 1-3. I didn't really like the last episodes of the run. The whole mood of the episodes changed after Cybill and Bruce became so incompatible off camera.

And now, it's WAY past my bedtime, so I've got to head down and get some sleep.

Good night!

...And since Steve's place is very close to La Difference - which is where I bought my business card holder - the one I lost last week, well...

I walked in, looked in the business accessories case, and they still had them on display.  So, I told a salesperson that I would like to buy one of the business card cases, and she got the key for the case.  Well, they had some more in stock, but they were all "white", not "blue".  Well, they did have one blue one left - the one on display.  So...

:)

*And I'm pretty sure I'm going to return one of the Tumi ones I bought last week, or just keep one on hand for an "emergency" gift.

DR Julie - So, when are we going to see Gypsy again?  ;)

I think we need one of those "all access" passes.    :D
Which performances were you thinking of DR Jose?

Well... Whenever the mood hits - and I have the evening free.  I really didn't mind seeing the show from the Front Gallery seats - and for just $25.  So... I'll keep you posted.  ;)

I think that's when I'm seeing it again too.  And DR Jason too.  Although, maybe we're seeing the matinee.  I should double-check that especially since I'll/we'll be seeing it from house seats.  :)

DR Jose -  You and DR Jason should stick around and also see the evening  performance with me and Freddie.

Is Jason saying the matinee of GYPSY is better for him, or that working the matinee of LEGALLY BLONDE is better for him?  Color me confused.

I'm saying that seeing the matinee of Gypsy would be better for me because I could use the money I could make at Blonde that night. But, I'm also saying that I would take off Wednesday night if that was the only chance we had to see Gypsy again.

What Jason said.  ;)

What about working the matinee of Blonde?  ;)

Yes, Q is dark on Wednesdays.

I would work Blonde in the afternoon if they needed someone, but alas...their schedule is full for the matinee.

OH! DR Jose...guess what Vic's lovely wife, Broadway's Lauren Mufson, sent along with him to the beach yesterday...? A HUGE bag of Garrett's Classic Chicago Mix. I knew I liked her... ;)

Hmmm... My body clock must really be off right now.  I was thinking/feeling it was already close to 3:00am, but it's only just 1:00am now.  Whew!  -Of course, since I've basically been up since 5:30am today, and that was after a semi-sleepless night, well... Whew!

And just wait until you hear her sing!

In fact, a couple of DRs heard her sing when she played Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! when the tour stopped in Indianapolis at Clewes Hall.  :)

I've not only heard her...I've seen her in Mamma Mia! in my own special way... She truly is one of my favorite people, and we make a great team when playing a heated round of Celebrity. She and Vic are a couple of swells in my book.
