This morning I got up way before dawn and went to search for nighthawks. I did not take this photo, but this is what I saw:

DR Julie--I like your avatar!

It reminds me of a story I read years ago about an actress who attached a simular picture to her resume when she started out auditioning.  She at least got some additional attention because of it.

It is a nippy 89 degrees outside. It cooled off after that dust storm last night.

I sat outside a Denny's overlooking a wash. I was afraid for a moment that the three sheriff cars that drove by me might stop and question me about my suspicious behavior. It has happened before.

Just because you don't have an Equity card, doesn't mean you don't have talent.

You are absolutely correct TCB and I hope you took no offense at my post. There was none intended. An Equity card can be a great thing but many times the offer of a Union card has little to do with talent and more to do with being in the right place at the right time.

Thanks, Dr Ben and DR Dan.

DR Laura - like the photo of the Nighthawk - it must be wonderful to be able to walk out your door and see so many beuautiful things on your morning walk.

Sylvestor Stallone Nighthawk - downright scary looking!

And, as has been aptly demonstrated [not here at HHW], just because you have money doesn't mean you have taste!  :)

Do you recall which actress?  That took guts - guess she got some auditions just because the casting people were too curious to see who would do that.

No, of course not, Ben.  I was just pointing out the obvious; that it works both ways.  :D

Favorite appetizer is the Mozzerella fritta at Pietrasanta, which sounds less hedonistic than what it is - breaded, fried cheese.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's been a busy morning for me already - 2 of my nonprofit constituents dropped in for coaching on our grantseeking database.  And the training office called with approval for my little trip to Cleveland next week :)

DR Julie - what a cute avatar!

Good morning!

ANother scorcher today. We didn't get any rain yesterday, so the air is very hot and very still. I'll be staying inside for as much of the day as I can. I am having lunch with best friend John since we didn't get to do it yesterday (I was at HARRY POTTER).

As I mentioned last night, I'll be watching Miss Esther Williams in NEPTUNE'S DAUGHTER this afternoon when I return from lunch. I'll probably be able to squeeze in another MOONLIGHTING episode, too.

I noticed that the PRIVATE SCREENINGS interview with Esther is on the first disc in the set - BATHING BEAUTY. I may watch that again since it's been a long time since I saw it.

The set also features musical outakes from the movies in the set, none of which I've seen I don't believe. Those should be interesting and fun.

Tonight is another Kathy Griffin MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. As I've been doing this summer, I'll let the DVR get it and watch it tomorrow speeding through commercials.

Next week Glenn Close's new series DAMAGES premieres on FX at the same time as Kathy winds up her summer season of shows, so I'll be watching one and recording the other. Will probably watch Glenn "live."
