Good Morning Matthew. You're up early for a Californian!

The dog woke up and decided to bark his head off at 3:00am (Pacific Time!) and when I got him back to bed, the DP was snoring up a storm and getting back to sleep was basically useless.  So, I'm here (almost a SS reference)

Good morning, all!  I have to go back to  Toyland this morning: LADY OF THE SLIPPER edits with Mr Murray, a search for a packed-up vocal score, and then some final packing.  I also have to post this last chart to David Byrne, who's copying the music for Mr Spirtas.

DR Jose, I am involved with nothing in this upcoming round of casting; whatever is happening in August is between BK and Michael Cassara.

TOD:
   DVD:  Upstairs Dwnstairs Season 5
CD:  Milla, The Baker's Wife, Goldilocks
   VCR:  Hmmmmm

media check

Tivo:  nothing of interest

iPod:  ootlegbay of Uponelay's YPSYJAY.

DVD Player:  PEACEFUL WARRIOR.  I read the book during my recovery/new agey period and was very taken by it, but I'm betting that the film is not going to be very good.

Good times are here to stay!

It amused me no end when one election year the Republican National Convention used The Best of Times is Now as their theme song.  It seemed the irony was lost on many.    :)

Last night DR Jason posted the SWEENEY TODD movie poster:

His needs were few, his room was bare but damn--look at that view!  Can you imagine how much a place like that would go today?

DR ELMORE got his lease....DR MUSICGUY his new abode....DR JOSE his new plateau...

Yesterday was a gala day here at HHW...

And a gala day should be enough for anybody.

It reminds me of Edward Scissorhands' attic. Coincidence?

Will Depp do his own singing?

As some wag has pointed out at another posting site, that place doesn't exist, because you can't see the Tower from a window on Fleet Street!?!

Thanks to DR Jason for posting the link last night.  And I assume you all noticed Lucy and Johanna in the portrait on the wall?

DR Edisaurus, so far as I know, Depp will do his singing on whatever is left of Sondheim's score.

It is very dark in THE FANTASTICKS land, I am sad to report.  Last night while I was at THE SUNSHINE BOYS read thru and lecture, there was a mutiny of actors vs. director in which everyone got involved including the costumer, the pit, and the janitor, for all I know.

I do not know what will happen tonight.  I do know that something must be done.....and the suggestion of the AD that I restage ALL of the musical numbers is NOT an option.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And since I'm up "early", I think I'm going to head down to Chelsea to get my haircut.  -Especially before the humidity really kicks in later - it's already at 78% according to the man in my radio - and also before all the Chelsea boi finally wake up and get in line for their haircuts.

DR EDISAURUS....sorry I wasn't around yesterday to remind your DH that Margaret Whiting sang "I'll Plant My Own Tree" for Miss Susan Hayward in THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS....although because Whiting had an exclusive recording contract at Capital (I think), the song was sung on the soundtrack by Eileen Wilson who was also the singing voice for Barbara Bel Geddes in THE FIVE PENNIES, a movie I forgot to put on my list yesterday.

DR JOSE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that you are feeling out of the spotlight in the pit, and that you should really be appearing onstage to receive the applause that is due your talent.

Someone took out an ad in the newspaper to suggest you take over the staging?  Wow, that is a mutiny, alright!

And very interesting news about next season's Encores! series.  Not so much for the shows selected, but for the casting.
