Good morning!

Steamy hot is the forecast for the next five days. Ugh! Those cool mornings seem like so long ago, and it was only earlier this week!

I've mentioned that I like the soundtrack a lot.  I think Nikki Blonsky ins wonderful as Tracy.  I was pleasantly surprised how well Zac Efron sings Link.  Queen Latifah seems like she can never do anything wrong.

Dear DtM ..... I agree..... I think Nikki Blonsky was fabulous, and I was really worried that they would "stunt-cast" some current Hollywood or A.I. type of bimbo as Tracy.

Zac Efron was just fine as Link.... or as anything else.... or as my dinner companion... or.... (you take it from here Jose..... ::)  )

And I don't know what it is, but just as in the play-musical, when "I Know Where I've Been" starts in, my water jets open up and I'm a mess until the end of the song.  And I thought the combination of Queen L. and the fabulous "backup gospel choir" type of arranging was........

        F A B U L O U S  !!!

The world is falling apart.  NOTHING is working.  My life is over.

I think I will go shopping.

The summer after I retired, my central A/C, my refrigerator, and my vacuum cleaner all stopped working within a two month period. And I thought, "I've got to live on a pension with stuff breaking?"

Not the best way to start retirement.

Now dear DR Naomi...... as penance, you are to include the adjective "fabulous" in at least 5 sentences a day, and amongst your co-workers there...... (wherever "there" may be )   :)

New episodes of MONK and PSYCH tonight.

The GHOST WHISPERER rerun is not one I've seen, so I hope I can fit it into a very crowded slate of things to be viewed today.

Another comment, on the soundtrack album for THE PIRATE almost every song is in stereo, so with this many stereo stems, I'm sorry they didn't just fashion a stereo surround track for the movie on DVD, and when mono had to take over, so be it.

There are lots of movies with a Dolby DIgital 5.1 soundtrack where the rear surround channels are virtually silent for the entire film.

And very interesting news about next season's Encores! series.  Not so much for the shows selected, but for the casting.

Encores! 15th Season

Well, I suppose when you do Follies and Gypsy in one season, there's no where to go but up - just about anything and anyone would look good.   :)

I made a quick trip[ to Wal-Mart the day it broke. The Eureka model I bought is still functioning beautifully despite heavy use!   ;D

I am very much looking forward to seeing HAIRSPRAY on Sunday with my friend Jeff. (We went to see DREAMGIRLS together, too. Is there a pattern developing?)

DR EDISAURUS....of course when you interview Miss Jo Stafford, you must also ask her about the inimitable Darlene Edwards, who is her close personal friend.

Close personal friend?!? She's never moved out of Jo's house!

My favorite is "Paris in the Spring"!

There's a very funny interview with Jonathan and Darlene---I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is, on Jo's Corinthian Records site. (She won a lawsuit and got the rights to her old albums, which she re-released.)

RE: last night's SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE RESULTS

SPOILERS

*
*
*

I thought the B4 were fair. I think kameron has only been saved all these weeks because he was dancing with lacey.  And i think dominic was quite weak on wed night.  But i had a feeling he was still very popular. So i'm not surprised he was safe.

As for the girls, i have liked jaimie. Her hummingbird routine was one of my favorites this year. But i do agree with the judges that she has not really progressed.  And it has been obvious the fans don't really like her.

I thought sara and lauren were the weakest. And i think lauren grates on a lot of people's nerves. So she will probably go next week.

I was so happy that danny was finally safe. I think a lot of it had to do with mia actually stating how incredible he is. I don't think people want to look stupid.

DVD:  My Ibsen Collection came from Amazon yesterday.  Started the weekend out with Little Eyolf with Diana Rigg, Anthony Hopkins, Charles Dance, and the late great Peggy Ashcroft.  A brilliant play.  What a modern writer Ibsen is!

CD:  Ron Isley Sings Burt Bacharach.  The Ibsen set also has about eight radio plays along with the video productions...so I'll be listening to The Pretenders with Paul Scofield sometime this weekend.

I love Paris in the springtime...but I hate New York in the summer.

It's gross outside already!

I really haven't much to say this morning/afternoon. I woke up about 30 minutes ago...I guess I was tired.

That is all.
