While one hears raves and not-so-raves for most movies that have opened recently, I've not heard one negative thing about The Simpsons movie.  I don't think anyone thought it was going to do anything, and I think when the BO numbers are released it will surprise everyone.

JMK - thanks for the list - which of those is specifically orchestrated in the Ogerman/Sebesky style?  I'll start with those.

Get the self titled Dori Caymmi on Elektra that Sergio Mendes produced.  Not hugely orchestral, but reminiscent of Urubu.  Also get the Qwest (Quincy Jones' old label) release of Ivan Lins, Awa Yio.  You will probably like the CTI release of Milton Nascimento called Courage, with orchestrations by Deodato very much in the Sebesky vain, and, finally, get Marcos Valle's sweet, Jobim-esque Samba '68 on Verve, again with Deodato arrangements.

I'm back (actually, I have been for a while) from seeing both "Hairspray" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."  Well, let me say that I thought that both movies were very good!  I didn't even mind John Travolta as much as I thought I would (I did say that I'd go into it with an open mind ::)).  Anyway, "Hairspray" is just a great feel-good movie.  And "Harry Potter" felt like it flowed quite well.  I'm sure that I'll see both movies again. :)
