I thought DR SINGDAW had competed for the title of Miss Baltimore Crabs.

Can you tell I am listening to the HAIRSPRAY soundtrack.  Like DR DtM....I am finding it quite fun.

Especially I Can Hear the Bells, Corny Collins' two songs, and You Can't Stop the Beat.....

Dress rehearsal tonight, which the director thinks is going to help....sort of like putting a nice dress on a mule.....pretty to look at, but it ain't going anywhere.

I decided not to choreograph or stage anything else.....it's just a starting point for the director to make his changes.

Let him come up with it from the start.

JMK, when are you in LA?  I'm in NY from Sunday, but back early Thursday morning and am happy to get-together if you're still here.

Well, Liza isn't exactly right for any Brain roles, is she?  Maybe General Mills, if we went a different way.

I guess the problem they "fixed" the first day the tickets were available to members, managed to get "unfixed" somehow.  -At least I recall some DRs having the same issue on the 1st, but then getting a hold of someone at OvationTix who helped them out.  Ah, technology.

I talked to Mia at OvationTix.

I've given permission for a University just outside of London to do The Brain in December.  We're comfortable with that decision because they've assured me it will be very low key in terms of publicity.  They're really excited.

I'll say this about NYMF - they want everything done on a timetable, which is fine.  But, thus far, I will say that their inner workings could use some work - they haven't met any of THEIR timeline re tech specs and such (all finally done, but weeks late), and this ticket thing is not good but has hopefully been fixed.

I got an e-mail from NYMF about how we could purchase "insider tickets" for friends, and we were told exactly how to do it.  I followed the instructions, and yet there was no button to click on to do so.  They're trying to fix THAT, now.

Oh, and I'm up.  And yes, there was two minutes of hammering, but by the time I got up and was ready to go have a conversation, it had stopped.  I have to locate exactly where it's coming from.

Not to belabor the bridge thing, but I got an email that had this in it today and the photos are quite amazing to me.

Bob Winzenburg is a friend of Scott Brown, son of ex-Viking Bill "Boom Boom" Brown.  Scott's sister, Kimberly, was in the middle of the I-35 bridge when it collapsed.  She, her friend, and their car fell 65 ft and survived with just cuts and bruises.  After landing she got out of her car and took a series of pictures, great pictures.  You can view these pictures on http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/popup?id=3439572.

I don't think that I would have had the presence of mind, having survived the bridge, to take pictures.  I would have been scrambling to get to solid ground!

Local news had a feature on how to escape a car that is being submerged.  They showed a gadget that you can purchase for $5.00 or so...you tap your car window with it, and it instantly shatters.  Handy thing to have.  Although I guess car thieves might also find it useful.

Should I be concerned that the auditions for BRAIN are next week and I still haven't been contacted about an appointment time? According to DR Elmore, I am on the list, but I'm still in the dark about what day and time I should show up...and to which rehearsal studio...

I went to bed at 12:45 this morning. That's EARLY for me. One could say that I was a tired little pup.

Blame Jose.  He'll be your accompanist, won't he?

Let's hope it functions only when the window has pressure against it...like being surrounded by water.

Is it too late to get your name off the program?  Or changed to Alan Smithee?

Actors Playhouse

in Greenwich Village is closing. I saw many shows there over the 27 3/4 years I have lived in New York. Sad to hear that yet another Off-Broadway space (as cramped and uncomfortable as it was) will be shut down. The economics of Off-Broadway are so shaky now that it's practically impossible to make money and producers would rather take the risk and move something to Broadway.

And the less said about the gun handbag incident, the better.  ;)

That was YOU, Singdaw?  My, you can do so many different looks! I didn't have a clue.
